Samantha Docherty watched as her class filed out of the room. She always enjoyed the senior class. They were a little closer to adulthood and in the social studies class they always loosen up a bit. Sam let them chose the topic as long as it could tie into their topic for that term. She smiled as she turned on her laptop ready for her free period, she had a load of guidence counselor stuff to deal with and a few college applications to go over for some of the students. Sam checked her cell as she sat at her desk and glanced over some papers that had been last week's homework for the class whilst her computer booted up. She did have an office, but she preferred her classroom.
Sam sipped her coffee as she played with her phone for a bit. She text her brother and sister to see if they were coming home for dinner and what they wanted. The three siblings got a long very well considering she was in charge. Truth be told after everything that happened it was no wonder they got along. She'd banished her step mom from their lives after their father had died and good riddence to her. she was a money grabbing bitch who never loved any of them. Sam glanced at the photo on her laptop's desktop of her and her family, her other family, her friends from work, she laughed and sat up straight.
Sam checked her emails after the laptop loaded then started on checking out the different colleges and what she knew about them. She had studied communications and media, she missed it. After all she was only a teacher here because she'd came back to look after her siblings. She had hoped it would be temporary but being back at home and with the students... she was glad it hadn't been a short lived thing. Sam felt at home here finally and she'd made friends, who were like a family to her. She chewed on her pen as she closed over the computer and started to look over the college applications, some where good, some... needed work. Sam looked up as there was a knock at her door, well on the doorframe, her door was always open. "Hey! Not seen you all day." She greeted the person with a smile.

Without you I'll be miserable at best. “That’s enough for today guys, I’ll see you next week!” Oliver waved goodbye to a couple individual students that had bothered to do so for him, smiling at them as they exited, but noticing that majority of the class fled out like no tomorrow. He wasn’t surprised, as it was obvious that this was one of their least favorite classes even though he believed he was legitimately entertaining. He was in no way cocky or arrogant, but he really tried his best to keep them from falling asleep in his class. He would even do magic tricks for the kids, which was funny in a science class, but most of them didn’t appreciate it like younger kids did. Sometimes he wanted to move down a couple of grades, maybe into middle school, but that kind of science just didn’t interest him like this did and the kids were by far too wild at that age. High schoolers at least had some kind of sense of responsibility, even if it wasn’t a keen one. He ran his fingers through his hair and shook his head, walking around and setting everything up for when he’d come back.
He thought he would save grading for the night time because he tended to do it more efficiently when he was at home and comfortable, and his reading speed was so fast that sometimes he’d finish it way faster than someone would expect. He stretched his arms and had everything organized, noticing that it was his free period he pulled out his water bottle and took a drink as he called his father up to check on him. He didn’t normally take personal calls during school but lately his father was having trouble keeping up with himself, and he just needed to check in every once in a while to make sure he was okay. They were extremely close because he grew up without a mom for most of his adolescent years, no thanks to a severe case of depression and words that he couldn’t regret more. He told her she was a bad mother, and in only hours, it was the end of her.
“Hey dad…” Oliver said into the phone, his voice quiet and eyes wary, his dad’s voice making him smile at just the sound of it. “Hang in there. I’ll bring you some soup after all my classes are done… I have one more today.” He told him reassuringly, his heart nearly dropping as the conversation went on. “I’ll see you soon. I love you… bye.” He smiled as he hung the phone up, turning it on silent mode and putting it in his pocket. He always kept it on in case something happened, but he didn’t want to disrupt the class if it went off during. He took a deep breath and walked out of his classroom, locking it behind him before continuing down the hallway to a friend of his’ classroom. He grinned as he knocked on the door frame, walking in and leaning down to give her a quick squeeze. “Hey sammy,” He greeted happily. “Have a good class?”
