ARABELLA (ALEXANDRIA ELIZABETH VAN den BOSCH) MARIE HART
twenty-seven, school nurse, straight, proper, flighty, sophia myles
personality/snippets of her past:
Arabella, like many people in this town, is full of secrets. But no one would know it because she seems like an open book. She has no problem sharing about her day and what she remembers of her family. Truthfully, what she tells about her mother being dead and father unknown are completely untrue. She tries her best to have it pass off as the truth which isn’t too hard because she spent years learning how to do that when back in Denmark. Despite the lying she generally is a very sweet woman. It’s what got her into nursing because she cared more about taking care of other’s then herself. Not to say she didn’t care for her own needs but when someone comes to her that needs help, she is always there. Arabella sometimes takes her job as a school nurse a little further and has an open door for anyone to come talk who needs it.
The downfall is Arabella prefers to live a slightly lonely life. There will be times she goes out to visit with some friends but she doesn’t have any connections outside of there. There is no romance in her life and even if she had someone, she isn’t sure what it would be worth. Her life in Velocity is a complete lie. She doesn’t even know who she really is anymore. Also, she hates being told what to do. There are times it’s necessary such as with work but when one of her bosses hounds her to do something that’s not her job, it irritates her. Same with people who tell Arabella how she should live her life. It makes her instantly snap just like when people assume she is something she is not.
Slowly Arabella is finding things she enjoys outside of her previous life. Arabella loves sitting on her little porch of her apartment while it rains. The sound is soothing to her. Coffee with a lot of creamer and sugar, homemade divinity fudge, watermelon, stir fry and spicy foods are all foods she enjoys to make as well as eat. When she feels like going out, Arabella likes to bike around new neighborhoods to find interesting little places. Biking is the one activity she really enjoys to keep up with. Most other things require going out with others and since there aren’t many people she’s close with that makes it a bit hard. Ever since leaving Denmark, she can now stop doing things which were enjoyable such as stitching, French and parties. Arabella has a thing about large crowds; it took her a long while to get comfortable walking through the hallways at the school. She knows that she hates the smell of beer and gets very annoyed with people who try to mooch of others amongst other little pet peeves. Hunting is another thing she has an issue with but that’s because it was a big thing her father would push. There aren’t many foods she dislikes yet. If the smell makes her cringe then she already knows to back off. Anything dry, shellfish, tea and kiwi are things she hates food wise.
history:
The only true part of Arabella’s name is her first. Her real, full name is Arabella Alexandria Elizabeth Van den Bosch, princess of Denmark. Yes, she was born a princess but no one in Velocity knows this. How she got to this first you have to peek just a tiny bit into her past....
Arabella didn’t hate growing up a princess. She had lots of grounds to run on, was completely spoiled and had plenty of cousins to play with. The royal family doesn’t really do as much as they used to; there’s a Parliament that takes care of most things, similar to England. So she was able to live a somewhat normal childhood. Difference was her and her cousins were all taught by private tutors and she had to learn to master the big three languages along with her native tongue. Piano, art and the history of other countries were thrown in along with learning her future duties. While her family doesn’t do much, they have final decision in many things by signing in new laws, oversee Parliament discussions and well as put their input for other rifts. As she reached her teen years, childhood was ripped form beneath her. Along with her lessons Arabella also had to start attending many of the functions. That’s where she started to get irritated with the life.
Arabella was expected to always be perfect. She had to remember every name and face, smooch up to allies as well as try to find herself a proper husband. She quickly grew bored with the life and began to sneak out. She’d be photographed around town and they’d be released. Her family wasn’t too happy but as she neared her eighteenth birthday, they weren’t sure what else to do. Finally the family of three struck a deal-Arabella could attend college if she agreed to marry whomever they chose. Arabella reluctantly agreed but once she met to prince they had picked for her, she immediately became miserable. With a ring on her finger, she started school. The guy was a complete pig and usually ended the balls with some other woman on his arms. That’s when Arabella met the mystery man she can’t forget. ---- ---- ---- was charming and unbeknown to her, a duke from England. But that night was the most enchanting one of her life. He was a sweet guy and knew all the right words to say. At the end of the night though, he turned out to be just like every other guy. After a few secret kisses, he wanted to whisk her upstairs. But Arabella knew better and ran off, never knowing what could have happened past that.
That was also when she realized she wasn’t sure if she could marry without love. So after hiding away some money and packing some clothes in a storage, she plotted her own death. It took months to work out the details but she found the perfect place. There was a small house she lived in and the medical school near her nursing one cremated the bodies after they were done with them. The night of cremation of one woman who was the within the same age range as her, she grabbed the body. With plenty of planning, Arabella set fire to the house. She was able to make it look like a spacer heater was too close to the curtains and they just lit up. The place was well engulfed before anyone came around. The body was burnt beyond recognition with only some bones intact. Watching the security footage-obviously Arabella had tampered with it-they saw no one had came or gone within the past couple weeks aside from her so ruled it was her. Arabella was armed with a trunk full of mementos that she valued, a couple suitcases with basic necessities and a new identity she had bought. Finding her way to the United States, she got a student visa and started nursing school under her new identity.
Arabella breezed through school all while applying for a green card. After finding a secure job in a hospital, she was able to get her citizenship. That’s when she started to get the back problems and began to look for an easier job. A local school had an opening for a school nurse which she went for. While it was a serious pay cut and she’d be out of work several months total a year, she had a back-up job for that. Working part time during the holidays and summers at a retail store, Arabella keeps her apartment. She still has plenty of money saved up, even after buying everything to furnish her home. Not many people see it anyways but Arabella is comfortable. When in a tight bind, she’ll dip into the money she has but only then. Otherwise she wants to keep it saved up for if she buys a small home or goes back to school for her bachelors in nursing degree. For now, Arabella is content working as a school nurse as a main career, even if her life is more on the lonely side of things.
hey should've tried harder admin! my name is ashleyp and i've been doing this stuff for nineish years. i also play no other characters. before i go, look at what i can do!
Haven actually enjoyed parties as much as she enjoyed just going about on her own. At night she usually curled up with some sort of a book, usually Kyle’s, and just enjoyed a glass of wine. Tonight was the annual Halloween Masquerade. When back in school it was her favorite school event. Some years she got a crazy costume and mask. But now that she was a professor she got a simple gown, some silver wings and a simple mask. The mask didn’t do a very good job of hiding her identity which wasn’t that much of a bother for her. Haven was going to hang out with some fellow professors and friends she had invited. She was careful about socializing too much with students. Once they left her class then she was alright with hang out outside of school in a more sociable manner. But as long as you were in her class, that could be counted out. haven was semi-old fashioned like that.
Taking a cab to the event, Haven adjusted her mask as the vehicle drew closer. When they pulled up, she was eager to get inside. Even if she didn’t dance much she liked the energy that was always at this Ball. It helped her keep positive. Most days she was fairly happy with her life but there were moments when she walked around this city.....the moments where she found herself at her and Kyle’s old haunts and memories flooded her. It didn’t help when she went home her place was littered with his book. It’s how she stayed close to him being so far away. That was the only way Haven could cope with her feelings since she knew she had let him go. her best friend helped her out, though, by keeping her mind off the past and in the present. Haven was fairly thankful for that. Without the other woman, she may just lose her mind with heartache.
Walking into the room, a smile crept on her face. She could already feel that this was going to be a good night. Nabbing a waiter, she grabbed a glass of champagne before she started to glide around the room. A few people had costumes while most chose more semi-formal to formal attire. Hopefully she recognized someone if they didn’t realize it was her first. The mask had a netting style which she chose because it was more elegant. Lately she had been on a run of choosing items that were more graceful and had clean lines. Her apartment was in the middle of being renovated room by room, being nearly half way done. Those were things Haven tried to put in the back of her mind because that was all stress she didn’t need tonight. Tonight was about enjoying an event thrown by the school.
