Andrew was excited, today was going to be a fantastic day, he knew it. He was planning on professing his love for none other than Tommy Fly, a cute sophomore who he has had his eye on for awhile. He didn’t think he had a chance before, especially with his recent luck with people he liked, but from last night’s conversation, he had a feeling that he might just get lucky this time around. Tommy was flirting, right? He had to be, he had called Andrew sexy, that had to mean something. He didn’t have a boyfriend as far as Andrew knew, plus, would he be talking like that if he did? Tommy wasn’t like James, who was Andrew’s previous crush. James was flirty but he had a fiancé and he knew when to step away if he had to, which of course, hurt Andrew eventually, but still, Tommy was different. Tommy was sweet, adorable, and he had a lot of things in common with Andrew, maybe it was about time Andrew found something with someone.
He had been counting down the hours all day, he couldn’t wait for glee club to come. He had it all planned out, he had the song and performance picked out, all that needed to be done was the actual doing of the act. He knew Tommy would like it, he had to, it was a sweet gesture wasn’t it? And all Andrew wanted to do was make Tommy feel special and to know that Andrew was indeed interested. The final bell had finally rung and Andrew had practically rushed to glee club, he didn’t want to perform first, only because he was still nervous. After everyone got settled it, he sat back and contributed to the discussion of the day and watched other members perform ideas for sectionals. Finally, it was his turn, he nodded at Ms. Pierce and stood up, walking over to the center of the room.
”Hi, this… um… isn’t an idea for sectionals or anything, this is just for… someone I’ve… had a big crush on for a while now and I’ve finally gathered the courage to finally tell him,” he nodded and looked at the glee club band, letting them know that they could start playing. They started playing THIS song and Andrew sang it, keeping his eyes on Tommy but moving around the room. As the song came to its last line, Andrew made his way closer to Tommy and grabbed his hand, obviously singing directly to him, ”…when I get you alooooooooooone,” he smiled slowly releasing his hand. He could only hope that Tommy would return the feelings and had appreciated the performance, his smile never leaving his face as he looked at no one else but Tommy.

Jackson felt like he was living on top of the world, things were just going so great for him. One of his best friends was living with him and his family and getting better with his drug problems, he was getting more developed musically, AND he was happily in love. He had always been the type of person to just feel chipper about every day, but ever since he had tied down Tommy, it had been different. It was like nothing can ruin his mood, no matter what it was. There was a bit of drama in his friend circle, but none that truly involved him, so he tried his best to stay out of it. But for the most part, Jax was pretty secure in his spot in life. He knew who he was, where he wanted to go, and who he wanted to be by his side along the way. Not a lot of people found that early on in life, but Jax knew he was lucky he did.
Today was almost just like any other day, just school work and the usual friendly interactions with the furious five, except today Jax had given Tommy the ring pop he promise him. Tommy loved it, as was expected, they both knew what it meant, but it was nice just having that little inside joke or note between them. Jax knew he would be with Tommy for a very long time, if not forever and he wanted Tommy to know that. His day, overall, was pretty good, he had gotten a good grade on a test, had learned a few new things, and he had met a few new people. It was after school now and it was time for Glee club, which he was always excited for. He couldn’t meet up with Tommy or any of the other guys before like usual because he had to meet up with Mr. Summers about his recent paper, so he told them all he’d just see them there, if he even made it to glee club today.
He was about five minutes late, but his space next to Tommy was still available for him, which was all that mattered really. He didn’t get to greet him with a kiss because everyone was in the middle of a discussion so he kept his hands and mouth to himself. He sat back and listened, not contributing too much and just watching other members as they performed. One of the students that Jax had not been able to properly introduce himself to had approached the center of the room, announcing that he was revealing his feelings for someone. Jax smiled, the boy was extremely attractive and he hoped that whoever he was professing his love for would accept it and return the feelings.
He sat back and watched, he even danced a little in his seat during the performance. The boy had talent, both moves wise AND vocal. But Jax immediately lost interest when he realized who the boy was singing to, it was Tommy, and it was obvious to everyone in the room. Jax’s jaw dropped as he watched in disbelief, was this seriously happening? He could feel himself grow angrier as the performance went on and when the other boys hands took a hold of Tommy’s he didn’t even think twice. The song was over and Jax didn’t even let Tommy react first, his fists were already clenched in his lap. ”Did you seriously just serenade my boyfriend RIGHT in front of ME?!” he asked through gritted teeth, practically glaring at Andrew. He then turned his glare to Tommy, ”TOMMY. WHAT. THE. HELL.. IS GOING ON?” he said, his nostrils flaring a bit. This couldn’t have been brought on randomly could it? ”Do you have something to tell me?” he asked seriously offended. He was honestly worried that Tommy was starting to view other options but he wasn’t showing that right now.

Tommy had had a fantastic day. He'd rather not be at school but he'd done well on a test. He had sat out in gym with Nateface and they'd just hung out even though the gym teacher had tried to get them to participate by throwing a soccer ball at their face. They'd just thrown it back and hit some random kid that they probably shouldn't have messed with but Nate had just laughed, so Tommy had laughed too. Tommy was trying out a new style because him and Nate had gone shopping the other day with Mikey. Mikey and Nate seemed to hit it off pretty damn quick but Nate was with Stella and they were the cutest things ever, other than him and Jax of course. Anyways, Nate and Mikey had made him buy clothes that he didn't normally wear. Now that he was taken, Nate had basically told him he needed to be a tease and show off his body a little bit more. So now he was wearing clothes that did a bit. He'd gotten an A on his English paper so he was doing great. Tommy was a bit nervous for Glee. He hated singing in front of people but Jackson had convinced him he was good enough for Glee and they seemed to like him. Brady was still the favorite along with Brady's new partner-in-crime Lily Deleon. Tommy didn't mind because his passion wasn't music. He liked kids. He was very fond of kids and he knew he wanted to teach when he went off for college. He wanted to be an English or Art teacher. He just knew he wanted to teach. Tommy bounced his legs impatiently just wanting class to end. He just wanted to be with Jax. This was the one class that he didn't share with Jackson and Nate, the rest they shared. He loved that they shared almost every single class. It made the day go by faster... Except for this class. It was so annoying. Finally the bell rang and Tommy practically jumped out of seat and his leg slammed the table as he got up. He whimpered a bit and immediately rolled up the jeans, checking his leg. It had a big, black bruise on it. Well... That ruined his happy day. Fuck. That hurt. Tommy limped to Glee club and sat down where him and Jax usually sat. He frowned, noticing that Jax hadn't beat him here like he normally did. He leaned back in his seat, waving to Andrew, one of his good friends. He rubbed absentmindedly at the black bruise on his leg, through his jeans, and kept checking the door for Jax. Finally Jax arrived about five minutes late and Tommy gave him a questioning look and squeezed Jax's leg, promising loving later. Andrew got up after a few of the sectional ideas and stuff and Tommy smiled at Andrew's words. Professing his love? For whom? Then he saw the look on Andrew's face when his eyes wandered towards Tommy. Fuck. No no no. Tommy turned white as a sheet. He immediately scooted himself right next to Jax and his fists clenched as tight as they could go. When Andrew took his hand, he automatically pulled back, recoiling from Andrew's touch. What the fuck was going on? Why was Andrew doing this? Tommy was taken and he'd thought he'd basically made that clear. God. Did he need to turn his new greeting into 'hi, I'm Tommy and I'm dating Jackson so please don't flirt with me'? He was so confused. He clung to Jax and was almost in tears. He didn't understand why Andrew had put him in this position. Why would Andrew hurt him like this? Why would Andrew basically mess a lot of things up with Jackson? What the fuck was his problem? Tommy tried to say something but Jackson beat him to it and it didn't seem that Jackson was very happy. Tommy wasn't happy either. "Andrew... I can't. I'm in love with Jackson... I'm sorry... Why the hell would you put me in this position? Damn it." Tommy wrapped his arms around Jax, clinging to the one boy that he loved and always would. He was planning on forever with Jackson because he couldn't see himself with anybody else. Nobody else. He cringed away from Jackson's glare. Thomas Adrian Fly had never seen Jackson Arthur Madison so mad before. In fact, he'd never seen him in the least bit aggravated. "Jax... I don't even know. I'm so confused." Tears welled up and he clung to his boy. Jax was his. Well... He hoped. He hoped Jackson understood that he was confused. He couldn't lose Jackson. He couldn't lose the boy he loved oh so much. He clung to Jackson's arm, not willing to let go in case Jax decided to just leave the room, and in essence, leave him. "I don't know. I didn't cheat. I have no feelings towards him. There's nothing there. I'm sorry baby. I don't even understand what the fuck is going on. Don't leave me. Please don't leave me." word count ;; 863 tagged ;; andrew && fluffy tomato pet wearing ;; click !muse ;; rascal flatts notes ;; I hate that Tommy is stuck in this position.

Andrew felt great right now, he had finally done it, everything was out there and on the table, all that was left for Tommy to jump in his arms and tell him that he felt the same way. His heart was racing and throughout his entire performance everyone in the room seemed to enjoy it, so that meant something right. He saw a few shocked faces, but he assumed it was just because of the sweet gesture, but little did he know what was about to come. Tommy had pulled his hand away quickly, which scared Andrew, did he do something wrong? He could have sworn that there was something between them, he didn’t just imagine it, did he? He gulped, hoping this was just Tommy in shock, but he got his answer just moments after when the boy next to Tommy spoke before Tommy could even respond vocally.
Andrew looked at him, it was the Jackson boy, he didn’t know him well, in fact, they had only spoke once. Jackson looked furious and as he spoke, Andrew realized why. Wait, boyfriend? He looked at Tommy in shock and he could feel his heart sink inside of him, ”I…” he started to say but he couldn’t even put words together right now. He fell to his knees a little, feeling himself get weak as time went on. He felt like time had frozen and it was only those three in the room, but it hadn’t. In reality, he had just professed his love for a taken boy, and those shocked faces weren’t a compliment, they were reactions to the fact that he had just tried to steal another boy’s boyfriend. If Andrew would have known that Tommy was taken, he wouldn’t have dared do that, he wasn’t like that at all. He could feel his heart breaking and his mind just going all sorts of ways, he didn’t know what to say or do.
He had obviously pissed of someone he barely knew, which he had no intention of doing. He hated looked rude or bad in anyone’s eyes, but this? This was too much. Was Jackson going to hit him? The hate in his eyes sure made Andrew think he would and to be honest, Andrew kind of wanted him to, mostly because he knew he probably deserved it. Andrew could feel his eyes water, especially as Tommy finally spoke and Andrew looked at him. ”I didn’t mean to… you… I didn’t know you were taken,” his voice cracked a bit at the end, he took a breath trying to hold back his tears. He had already humiliated himself enough, he was not going to top it all off with crying in front of the glee club. Hell, he didn’t think he’d be able to show his face in glee club again, especially after this.
He watched Tommy as he clung to his so called boyfriend and took a step back, god, was this embarrassing. He didn’t mean to put Tommy in that position, he was under the impression that Tommy was single. He watched the interaction between the two and it only made his heart ache even more. ”I’m really sorry… “ he said blinking and a tear sliding down his cheek. Not only did he not get the boy, but he had made it look like he was trying to take someone else’s boyfriend, which he never wanted to be viewed. He could feel himself wanting to cry more, so he just ran out of the glee club, stopping the hallway and just breaking down against the nearest locker.

Honestly, Jackson had never really been this upset or angry before, and he really didn’t know what to do with it. His fists were clenched, his heart was racing, and he could feel himself grow hot. So many worries were running through his head as he waited for Tommy to react in some way. Was Tommy bored with Jax? Had he been cheating on him? Was he interested in other people? Jax thought things were going so well, more than well, hell, he thought they were perfect for each other. They had talked about being together forever, was it all just bullshit? Was it all because Jax was his first boyfriend and Tommy would find more with another person? Jax was truly scared and pissed all at once, he didn’t want to be made to look like a fool, and after that little serenade, he really did feel like one. Either Tommy was cheating on him or this kid was seriously just trying to take his boyfriend, either way, Jax was not going to be happy.
Jackson felt Tommy cling to him which softened his expression a little, but didn’t completely take away the anger. Tommy said he was in love with Jackson, but that didn’t mean there wasn’t cheating involved, so Jax stayed a bit stiff and didn’t return the hold on Tommy. He stared back at Tommy, studying the look in his eyes. He knew Tommy through and through and could always tell when he was genuinely being sincere, so he believed him when he said he didn’t know what was going on. Jackson couldn’t move though, he could still feel his anger boiling up. If Tommy wasn’t at fault then that meant that Andrew was literally trying to take his boyfriend from him and Jackson was not having that. Tommy continued to cling and speak, which only assured Jax that Tommy had no intention in leaving him, which was a relief.
Jackson looked at Andrew when he finally spoke again, he could see it in his face that he legit didn’t know that Tommy was taken. He wanted to hit him, rough him up a bit just to show him that he shouldn’t dare mess with his relationship again, but the look in the boy’s eyes, made him realize that he genuinely wasn’t aware of Tommy’s relationship status. Jackson thought everyone knew about them, but apparently not. He looked at Tommy and nodded, reaching up and touching his arm, giving it a gentle squeeze. He was still feeling off, but he knew this was just a big misunderstanding so he was starting to calm down a bit. Tommy spoke and Jax kissed Tommy’s forehead, ”I’d never leave you… I thought you were leaving me…” he frowned, but before he could speak again, Andrew had apologized and ran out the room upset. Jackson bit his lip and looked at Tommy, rubbing his thumb against Tommy’s arm gently, ”Go talk to him.” He sighed, not really wanting Tommy to be alone with the other boy, but he had always been too nice and he felt bad about it all. ”Go,” he nodded, reassuring Tommy that it was okay to leave him for now.

Tommy had never been so confused or upset in his life. He didn't like that Andrew had put him in this position. He was never one to break someone's heart. He never had and he'd never planned to. It just wasn't in him to hurt someone so completely. He knew what heartbreak felt like even though he'd never been in a relationship. Tommyboo knew what it felt like to be rejected and hated, and he had never wanted to do that to anybody else. Andrew was forcing him too though and it was practically killing him on the inside. He had to watch Andrew fall apart and there was nothing he could do about it. It wasn't like he could leave Jax for Andrew.... Tommy loved Jax too much and he knew it would kill Jax on the inside if Tommy even considered it. So either way, he lost. He couldn't deal with it. He didn't know how to handle it. The mix of emotions was hurting him on the inside and mentally, he was shutting down. Jax was still as stiff as a board and that made Tommy flinch but cling tighter. He would have crawled into Jax's arms if there was enough room. There was no way in hell he was letting go of Jax. He couldn't have Jackson walking out on him now. No, he was too far in love with him and he wouldn't be able to deal with it. Tommy would not deal with it if Jackson walked out on him. He'd fall apart. His fingers curled into fists with Jackson's shirt in his hands. If Jackson wanted to go anywhere, he'd have to pry Tommy's fingers apart and then get his arms undone which would not be easy. Tommy was holding on rather tightly because he had no desire for Jackson to go anywhere and he was scared to death that Jax was going to leave. Finally, Jackson went soft for Tommy but Tommy could still see that flash of anger directed at Andrew. Tommy couldn't help but be angry too, but at the same time, he didn't want to hurt Andrew more than he already had. He was already feeling guilty and wished he could clone himself or rip himself in two so that both boys would be happy. He assumed he just cared too much and most of the time, that was harder than not caring at all. Tommy frowned at Jackson's words and replied, "Never." His voice cracked on the word. He would never, ever leave Jackson. Jackson would have to leave him first. Tommy finally crawled onto Jackson's lap and hid his face in Jackson's shoulder. He was scared to death that he had caused Andrew to be depressed. He had never wanted to hurt anybody. Hell, he couldn't even squish a spider because it was hurting another creature. He always made Jax catch them and let them out of the house. He couldn't catch them himself but he couldn't stand to have someone else squish them either... If he couldn't let a spider die, how was he going to let Andrew have his heart broken? He didn't have a choice... There was no way he was leaving Jax... And since he couldn't rip himself in two or clone himself, there was nothing he could do. He was helpless. When Jax tried to get Tommy to go out to Andrew and talk to him, he just clung tighter, and all his muscles clenched. Was Jax really going to make him go out there and look in that boy's eyes? Was Jax going to make him tell Andrew that he just... Couldn't do it? That there was no way in hell he'd break up with Jax? He didn't want to break Andrew's heart all over again. He'd already seen him fall apart once. He couldn't see it again. Tommy buried his face deeper into Jackson's shoulder and replied, "I can't. I can't. I didn't wanna hurt him Jax. I didn't want to ever break anybody's hearts. Hell, I can't even squish a bug without bawling over it, much less break somebody's heart right in half. Damn it... He must going through complete hell and I can't do anything about it. There's nothing I can do. There's nothing I can do. Damn it. I hurt somebody. Hell. Damn me to hell. Damn it damn it damn it. I hurt him Jax and now I can't fix it. Don't make me go out there. Please don't make me go."word count ;; 761 tagged ;; andrew && fluffy tomato pet wearing ;; click !muse ;; rascal flatts notes ;; I hate that Tommy is stuck in this position.

Jackson wrapped his arms around Tommy as he climbed onto his lap, he had almost forgot they were even in glee club, feeling as if they were the only two in the room. Everyone seemed still in shock at what had just happened, maybe because everyone was well aware of him and tommy as a couple. Jackson held his boyfriend tight and kissed the top of his head, ”it’s okay, it’s gonna be okay,” he said in a gentle tone, trying to calm Tommy down. He knew what Tommy was going through and he hated it, he didn’t want Tommy to feel this way, but he understood it. Just weeks ago, it was Jackson who had someone interested in him, Kaylee, the girl had even kissed him. It had practically broke his heart when he had to reject her, he hated hurting people, and Tommy was the same way, maybe even more so.
Jackson pulled away and little and made Tommy look at him, touching his cheek gently, ”I know, I know…look at me,” he said in the same gentle tone, and looking back at Tommy. ”It sucks, but it happens…and sometimes you can’t control it,” he shrugged lightly, ”its not your fault that he didn’t know you had a boyfriend, it’s not like you have my name written on your forehead or anything.” He frowned a bit, ”I don’t like that he has feelings for you, but I can obviously see why. You have to talk to him, baby. It’s not gonna be easy, but he’ll feel worse if you don’t. he probably thinks you led him on,” he suggested, knowing damn well that Tommy most likely didn’t do that, but you never knew.
Jackson hugged him tightly again, ”it’s going to be okay though, I know how you feel. he’s probably really embarrassed and could use a pep talk, and you’re really good at those, you know,” he said trying to encourage Tommy a bit. It was true though Tommy was great at making people feel better about themselves, ”it’s one of your best qualities,” he said with a light smile.

Tommy finally felt the warmth from Jax's hug. Finally Jax believed him when he said he had no idea what was going on... Tommy clung very tightly to Jackson, not willing to let go. He didn't care that everybody was staring at him. He didn't care if they made fun of him so long as he had Jackson Madison on his side. He didn't care if the whole world hated him so long as Jax didn't. Tommy hadn't realized how much he'd relied on his Jax until he thought he was gonna lose him. "For him too? He looked destroyed Jax. I broke him so bad... I saw the look in his eyes, didn't you? What if I can't fix it?" Tommy's fists held tightly to Jackson's shirt. Even though he no longer felt threatened, he couldn't bring himself to let go of his boyfriend. Tommy relied on Jax so much, just even as someone to talk to, and the furious look in his eyes was the scariest thing Tommy had ever seen. He never wanted to see Jackson Arthur Madison that mad again. Ever. Ever again.
Tommy looked his boyfriend in the eye, even though he was still flinching at the idea of the furious look in Jackson's eyes. "I ammmm looking at you." He frowned unhappily. He doubted he'd ever forget the furious look in his boyfriend's eyes. "But but but.... I didn't wanna hurt him. Why do bad things happen to good people? He's such an awesome guy... And he just got ripped apart. God damn." He was calming down slowly. Jax had always had that effect on him. Tommy's boyfriend was the most soothing person ever. He didn't understand the connection, he just knew it existed and there was no way that was ever going to go away. Tommy smiled finally and replied, "Maybe I should write it on my forehead. You need to write my name on your forehead too." He stuck his tongue out and then looked down at Jackson's next words. His smile disappeared. He couldn't look Andrew in the face right now. He just needed his Jackson, nothing else, and no one else. "I can't. I can't look him in the eyes and tell him there was never anything there. Don't you think I already hurt him enough?"
Tommy Fly hugged his boyfriend back and didn't let go. He wasn't going out there right now. He couldn't watch Andrew fall apart. Call him a coward but he sure as hell was not going to make Andrew fall apart again. Tommy couldn't look at the pain that he himself had caused the other boy. No way. "Jax. I can't do it. I caused that pain and I can't look at it. Call me a coward... I can't do it. I don't want to risk anything happening between him and I... Something would happen because I would feel bad and I just... Can't. I can't do it babe."

Jackson sighed and bit his lip a little, ”you can’t fix it right now… he’s going to be hurt for a while, but he’ll eventually get over it. He will, I promise,” he said with a nod. ”it’s still fresh for him, but he will get over it, relax baby,” he said rubbing his thumb lightly on tommy’s delicate cheek. He loved how much Tommy cared about other people’s feelings; Jax was the same way, especially if it meant that they were the ones hurting others.
As much as he hated that Andrew was hurting, he was not going to give up Tommy that easily, no way. He would never. Tommy was all his, forever and ever. Unless of course, Tommy wanted to go with Andrew or any other boy for that matter, as much as Jackson would hate to see that happen, all he wanted was for Tommy to be happy. He’d be a liar if he said he wasn’t worried that his boyfriend would find someone else, especially since Jax was Tommy’s first boyfriend. He knew Tommy loved him but what if he found someone more compatible, it was a battle that Jax went through every day, as confident as he was in their relationship, he was still paranoid that someone would swoop Tommy off his feet and steal him.
Jackson hated seeing sadness in Tommy’s eyes, he just wished he could flick a magic wand and make him happy again. ”I don’t know… the world is just a cruel place… if there was too much happiness, it might explode with tons of rainbows?” he shrugged, laughing a little at his own words. Jax could tell that Tommy was calming down, he could feel the tension in his body language decrease, which relieved him. He chuckled a bit at his boyfriends words, ”if only, maybe we should get our tattoos sooner than we intended?” he smiled, ”want to? I’d love your name on my body forever,” he admitted.
Jackson sighed, knowing that Tommy wouldn’t be able to handle talking to Andrew right now and nodded. He would have offered to talk to the boy himself, but he knew he’d only get a little angry at just the thought that he was interested in Tommy. He wasn’t jealous anymore; he just didn’t want him looking at his boyfriend like that. Tommy was his and no one else’s, damn it. Jax felt Tommy cling more, but didn’t mind it, he only held his boyfriend closer. ”it’s okay, you don’t have to. Come on, let’s go to my place and we can watch some Scooby doo, that sound okay?” he said kissing Tommy’s cheek, then pushing him lightly off of his lap and leading him out the door and towards Tommy’s car.
