”I want your boyfriend….I’m not gonna lie…I’ll be his girl…when…he tells you goodbye…don’t worry I won’t take him…cause I aint that low….but I want your boyfriend…just thought you should know,” she sang lightly as she played the guitar lightly and giggled at the words that had just left her mouth. It wasn’t her song, but it was a new one by one of her favorite country vocalists and she wanted to learn how to play it as soon as she heard it. Brady had been teaching her how to play guitar and she had been reading tabs much easier now, she wasn’t an expert, but she was improving within time. Brady was a pretty great teacher too, he knew exactly what he was doing and he wasn’t an aggressive teacher, he was patient and he made the learning experience fun.
She had become closer to Brady the more they hung out, sung together, or when he was teaching her how to play guitar. She liked his company and he seemed to enjoy hers, she was definitely glad she had met him. He had even made her more confident in her own voice and singing beside him, only made the experience even more magical. She had to admit, their vocals harmonized well together and they always seemed to get a positive reaction whenever they performed or made a video together. She was truly happy here in Velocity, she had met so many people, and had actually made a good amount of friends. She never stayed with one person for too long, she was a social butterfly so she went from group to group every so often. When she looked at groups of students, she never saw cliques, she just saw other people with different personalities and she liked them all for different reasons. If someone didn’t like her, she just moved along, continuing to keep drama and negativity out of her life.
She smiled lightly at her pet ferret, Kelso, who had just snuggled next to her on her bed and she quickly put Brady’s guitar to the side. He had left it the last time he came over so that she could practice a bit before their next session. ”Come here, Kelso,” she patted her lap as she readjusted herself so that she was more comfortable. Kelso went to her and she began to pet him, she loved snuggling with him, he was just so lovable, but mostly only with her. He ran away from other people, she never knew why, but she was just glad that he loved her just as much as she loved him. ”How ya doin’ stinkbrain? Did I play good? Hmm?” she asked sweetly as she smiled at him with admiration, she knew he wasn’t going to respond, but that never prevented her from talking to him anyways.
Before she knew it, in the middle of her quality time with Kelso, she heard a light knock on her door and she looked up, seeing her mother walk inside. ’Sweetie, do you mind getting out of the house for a bit? Me and your father want some… alone…time for a few hours,’ her mother asked, obviously uncomfortable with asking such a thing, ’Ill give you some money so you can go shopping or something? Here’s 60$’, she placed it on the dresser nearest her. Lily made a face, knowing exactly what her mother meant by “alone” time, ”you know you could have just sent me to the grocery store or something? I didn’t need to hear the ‘alone’ time part,” she giggled. She felt bad when she saw the red in her mother’s cheeks increase, so she quickly added to her previous statement, ”but yes, I’ll go out, thanks and have…fun?” She wasn’t sure what she was suppose to say to that, but either way, she already wanted to get away.
’Thanks,’ her mother smiled nervously and made her way back out of Lily’s bedroom. Lily looked down at Kelso, ”Sorry kid, I can’t take you with me… feel free to hide under my pillow if it gets too loud,” she joked as she gave him one last pet. She hopped out of her bed and changed out of her pajamas, she had been being a lazy butt all day today. It wasn’t what normal teenagers did on Saturdays, but she wasn’t exactly normal, plus she liked working on her lyrics and potential song ideas for her and Brady. She was ready within minutes and she gathered her bag together, she wasn’t sure where exactly she was headed, but she always found something to do. ”Bye Kels,” she said putting her back over her shoulder and leaning down to kiss the top of his head.
She made sure to grab the money on the top of her dresser and put into her wallet as she headed downstairs and out the front door. She smiled lightly to her mom on the way out, closing the door behind her as she started to walk along the side walk, into no direction in particular. She debated in her mind the possibilities of what she could do with the money her mom had given her. She could go shopping, go to the movies, or maybe go eat, maybe all of the above? She wasn’t sure what she wanted to do, she was never one to really treat herself to things, even if she did have money in her possession. She debated on whether or not to text one of her friends, but she decided against it, just in case she found something on her own to do.
She found herself at the park, which was right before you got into downtown. The park was always nice, plus, she had her notebook in her bag just in case she wanted to work on some lyrics. The park was the perfect place to do that, or she could just take a stroll and take in her surroundings? She loved meeting new people and she loved seeing the puppies people brought to the park, they were always the energetic and playful ones. She held her bag closer as she walked through the park along the pathway, where joggers ran and people walked their pets. She eventually got to the bridge that went over the small lake near the center of the park and she stopped there to just relax and enjoy the view. This spot was so romantic, she wondered how many couples had come here on dates, or maybe a guy had brought his girl here to propose? It seemed like the perfect spot to do it.
After a few minutes, she eventually peeled herself away from the romantic scenery and continued onto the path, just walking still. She almost felt the itch to stop and sit somewhere so she can start writing some lyrics, but it wasn’t strong enough yet. Her eyes wondered around, she had even stopped a few times to pet a few strangers’ dogs that had made their way towards her. She was a very friendly person so she was never afraid to talk to random people. After a few pleasant and joyful conversations, she started on her walk again. She knew in about 10-15 minutes, she’d make it to where the pathway ended and all the stores would be calling her name to check them out so she could make a purchase of some sort.
As she walked along, only happy thoughts in her head, her eyes caught sight of someone sitting alone under a shady tree. She only set her gaze on the person because she often did the same thing at the same exact tree, except instead of reading, she’d be writing and sometimes she even had the guitar with her. She continued to walk as she got closer to where the tree was and the more that came into view, the more she began to recognize the boy. Sure his nose was deep into his book, but she could still see certain qualities in his face to see who it was. She smiled lightly as she started to head towards him, she didn’t know the boy well, but she had met him before and had asked to borrow a pencil once or twice in class.
It was summer vacation now though, so she knew she wouldn’t see him until the new school year started, plus, she had never seen him outside of school, so why not just talk to him? She finally got to him, her light smile never leaving her face. ”Um, hi…. Jeremy, right?” she began, ”Sorry if I interrupted you and there’s something insane going on in your book, but I wanted to say hi, I’m Lily, from… English class?” They had never really had a full on conversation, but she always wanted to talk to him. Mainly because he was so mysterious and quiet, those were the types of people that were always the most interesting in her opinion. ”What are you reading?” she asked interested, ”I’m currently in the middle of ‘Dance With Dragons’, it’s the fifth book in the ‘A Song of Ice and Fire’ series… which is the Game of Thrones books,” she said, adding her own currently reading book. She was such a conversationalist, she couldn’t but always add more to everything she asked or said.

Jeremy woke up that morning, in the orphanage. Even though he was now eighteen, he still couldn't get out. He had nowhere to go and he still couldn't get a job. Being on probation made it really difficult to get a job, especially since it was for drunk driving where his best friend had died. He was honestly surprised he hadn't gone to jail... That he was still free to walk the streets of Velocity. He looked around the room, seeing a bunch of sleeping teenagers that were homeless. He was homeless. He'd been abandoned and now he was stuck in this piece of shit place, wearing the same clothes almost everyday. The only new clothes that he got were the ones that were donated. He grabbed his phone off the charger. The state had given him a phone so that the orphanage could find him. It was just a cheap flip phone but it was still a phone. He could text and call for unlimited amounts of minutes and texts. Jeremy Lannister got dressed and grabbed an old hoodie that a volunteer had given him to stay warm. He didn't use it to stay warm usually. He normally just used it to hide his face so that people wouldn't talk about him. Jeremy ate a small breakfast, the assigned amount given to him. He was still starving half to death but he wasn't going to argue for more food. He never did like most of the teenagers here. He just ate and moved on. He didn't like to talk, much less cause a scene. He went back to the bedroom that he shared with seven other kids and grabbed his backpack that his school stuff in it. He wanted to get out of this place for the day. Maybe he'd hang out at the park or something. He could go over to Old Man West's house and do some odd jobs so he could have a bit of spending money. Old Man West had taken pity on poor Jeremy and could sometimes find some work for Jeremy to do so that he could have just a small amount of spending cash. He slung his black backpack over his shoulder lazily. The backpack was falling apart but it still carried his stuff and that was all that really mattered to Jeremy Cooper Lannister. Jeremy made his way to the park and sat down next to a tree, away from most of the crowd. He didn't really like people or socializing. He had better things to do like read. Right now he was reading the Eragon series. He was on the the third one, Brisingr. He was a big time dragon nerd. He liked dragons and when he heard that Eragon was all about dragons, he obviously had gone to the library and checked it out. The librarian had been a bit wary about giving him books because he couldn't provide a permanent address but in the end, she had relented. He hadn't argued much with her. He'd just asked and stayed quiet as she argued... With his quietness. Jeremy usually spoke with the way he looked at you. He normally didn't have to say anything in order for someone to understand what he wanted. It took him a chapter and a half to disappear into Eragon's world. Everything was so noisy here but he was too lazy to move. Jeremy Lannister had been reading for about fifteen minutes when a voice interrupted his reading. He closed his book, checking the page number so he could go back to reading once he got rid of the annoying voice that had interrupted. He looked up and recognized Lily Deleon from English class. She was a social butterfly and she'd never paid too much attention to him. They'd met over iming and Jeremy thought she was a little strange. "Hi Lily." Jeremy mumbled. He didn't know what to say to her. They were polar opposites for the most part. "I'm reading Brisingr. It's part of the Eragon series." He mumbled the reply. He frowned. Why did she care to talk to him? He was ratty and he never talked to anybody. He was a mumbler and barely anyone was able to understand him. Even Jeremy's probation officer had to ask him to speak up on a regular basis. word count ;; 728 ! tagged ;; lily isabelle deleon ! wearing ;; click !muse ;; crush by david archuleta ! notes ;; sorry. first Jeremy post !

As social as Lily was, she had to admit, she loved the time she spent alone. It always gave her time to just think, work on lyrics, learn new things, or just simply practice the guitar. It was always nice to have some time to yourself and not have to constantly be around other people, right? She loved spending time with people, especially one on one; it was always the best way to truly get to know someone. She didn’t depend on social interaction, but she never really could stay away from it for too long. Sometimes she even spoke to strangers, even if she didn’t think she’d see them around again. It was just the type of person she was; she truly believed that you could learn something from everyone and anyone, no matter what.
Lily’s eyes went over the boy, he didn’t dress like others in this town, but she didn’t judge him on that, mostly because she didn’t dress like them either. She was from a small town and they weren’t as revealing as most of the teenage residents here. It was a relief to see that she wasn’t the only one that didn’t conform to the norms of this city. She didn’t know much about him, just that he was quiet and kept to himself. She rarely saw him in school, only in their English class really. He was good at being kept hidden from everyone else though. She almost admired it, but then again, she didn’t see why someone could not socialize and explore the world and the people in it a bit. She was used to the quiet type though; she used to be one herself at one point in her life. After she broke out of her shell a bit, she started breaking others’ out of theirs. She never resulted to alcohol or drugs though; she hadn’t been introduced to that world just yet.
He didn’t talk very loud, but she was excellent at keeping her attention on someone and blocking out the outside sounds so she heard him when he spoke. She was a little saddened by his frown, but didn’t choose to step back or walk away, she wanted to talk to him. ”Oh yeah? Are they good? I’ve always wanted to get into those, but I wanted to finish the Game of Thrones books first… have you checked those out?” she asked, taking a hold of her bag gently and rocking back on the heels of her feet. ”they’re really good…. And unpredictable.. you might like’m” she shrugged and smiled wide. ”How’s your summer vacation going?... anything exciting planned?” she asked as she stepped closer and took a seat in front of him joining him, crossing her legs Indian style.

Jeremy had never been a social person, except in kindergarten. Back then, he'd had nothing to worry about and nobody had been mean to him... Well, not at first. When kids started realizing he didn't change his clothes very often, he'd gotten a lot of shit for it. He hadn't given a shit back in kindergarten. He just played with the kids that would play with him and he was still happy. Elementary school is when the kids got really mean and even started worrying about popularity. It wasn't cool to hang out with Jeremy, so most of his friends had ditched out on him to be with the cooler kids. He'd become very closed off, not because he was depressed or anything. He just learned very quickly that he was not at the top of the food chain, and he didn't really want people to notice him. He didn't want people to get cruel with him so he became adept at hiding from people. Jeremy was always there but not really there. Nobody ever noticed when he was there. He'd become fantastic at the art of being there but unnoticed. It was the same way here in Velocity. He stayed in the background and just moved through life, not really worrying about anybody. He didn't really have any friends or anything. He just chilled and got his work done... Sometimes. Jeremy struggled to understand most concepts, even though he tried. He was just trying to make it through high school. When probation was over, he wouldn't have to worry about getting a job. His childhood record would be sealed and he'd be able to get hired. For now, he was stuck at the orphanage with no job. That was fine for now. Jeremy wouldn't be able to deal with it forever though. He kept his eyes on Lily, the girl who had joined him and just watched in amazement as she went on about Game of Thrones. He'd already read it and watched all the episodes. "Yeah, Eragon's one of my favorite series. I've read all of Game of Thrones and watched all the TV shows too." Jeremy didn't even blink as she sat down. Why was she talking to him? He just wanted to read his book, damn it. Jeremy found, that in reality, he really did want her to just stick around. He needed some social interaction and she seemed pretty good at holding up a conversation without his help. It was easy to just sit here and listen and occasionally offer something to say. Was that Jeremy Lannister being lazy? He didn't like to think so. He liked to think that it was just him not liking social interaction but needing just a little bit. "Eh. Not really. I'm not a really exciting person though. You?" He mumbled and his words slurred together. The school wanted him to take speech therapy and fix his mumbling and slurring of words, but Jeremy didn't have any desire. Some people could understand him and those were the only people that Jeremy cared to get to know. word count ;; 519 ! tagged ;; lily isabelle deleon ! wearing ;; click !muse ;; don't panic album by all time low ! notes ;; finally doing replies !

Lily was still new to the city, she had met a few people in class before the summer vacation started, but only one or two she could really call her close friends now. She always took an opportunity to get to know a school mate, mostly because she loved knowing everyone she went to school with. She was one of those people that knew everyone, even if it was in a casual “hi” and “bye” sort of way; she was just that friendly and caring. She sat her bag beside her as she got more comfortable in front of the boy, he didn’t’ shoo her away so that had to be some sort of sign, right? Plus, she had never been mean to him or showed him a reason to be scared of her, so how would he? She didn’t know much about him, but she was hoping to learn more today, if he let her.
She smiled lightly, ”I’ll have to check it out then,” she nodded and made a mental note in her head to check out the series he was currently reading. ”You have?! OH my god, finally someone else who is a fan,” she giggled, obviously really ecstatic to find someone interested in the series as well. ”Well, you have good taste, Jeremy,” she smiled and placed a strand of her hair behind her right ear as she bit her bottom lip lightly. ”what other kind of stuff are you into? Like… outside of books…” she asked, interested, she loved learning things about people, it always fascinated her. She had always wondered about Jeremy, ever since the first time she saw him. For some reason, he just stuck out to her and she couldn’t stop watching him. It wasn’t in a creepy perverted kind of way, it was in a sort of ’I have to know who that boy is for some reason’ kind of way. Lily had only got that feeling once before and it was how she met her best friend back home when they were about thirteen years old and she vowed to always follow that feeling.
Lily frowned for a second, but it quickly vanished as it was her time to respond, ”you should let other people tell you that, before you go on assuming that you’re not an exciting person,” she smiled lightly. ”well, what’d you do today? Besides come to the park to read….” she said, ”why can’t you read at home?” she asked, just wondering. She didn’t mean to pry; she just wanted to get to know him more. He spoke low, but Lily didn’t find it hard to catch most of the things he said. She liked that he didn’t speak loud, it was almost like he just didn’t want the world to hear what he had to say. ”Well, my vacation is going ah-mazing actually! Haven’t really done much but work on my music with my friend, Brady, we’ve getting better and better, she said excitedly, ”I haven’t done anything too big though, at least not yet, I’m still new here so I don’t really know the town much,” she shrugged lightly. ”What’s fun to do around here?” she asked, looking at him as she placed her hands in her lap.
