[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style,width: 350px; padding: 10px; background-image: url(http://i.imgur.com/w6MZf.png);] I was dreaming for so long Katy sighed lightly as she walked around the class, checking in on the students' progress as they continued to work on their projects. It was the last class of the day and she really wasn't looking forward to the talk afterwards. She looked up at the clock and notice that there was only a few minutes left before the class would be over. Where had the period gone?
She again sighed lightly as she walked towards the front of the classroom. "Okay. It's time to clean up. Make sure that all the art supplies get back in their proper places, please," She said. For high school students, they seemed to have difficulty putting things were they belonged. She spent nearly thirty minutes, it seemed, every day after school reorganizing everything. She watched as the students started to move around the room, putting things away.
The bell rang and Katy watched as a few of the more eager people left the class. "Um, Rebeccah. Can I speak to you for a few minutes?" She called out before the girl could leave the room. She walked over to the board as she picked up an eraser and began to erase the writing on it in order to keep herself busy. Since the gossip blog had, in essence, spilled the beans about her and Jude, she thought it was only right to tell Rebecah and Jason. They were going through a lot right now and secrets wouldn't help matters. While Jude had volunteered to tell them, Katy wanted to tell Rebeccah. Jude was already doing so much for her, she felt that it was only right. Still, she could still feel her nerves rising. What if Beccah didn't approve? What if she got mad and forbid Katy from seeing her father?
She did have to admit that Katy really wouldn't blame her. She wasn't that much older than Rebeccah herself and it had to be a little weird. Not only that, but Jude and Katy had been dating secretly, while he was still with Rebeccah's mom. Again she sighed before she turned around to face the empty classroom again.

Rebeccah had to admit, she was feeling much better, especially after her hang out with Bailey. He had made her forget about everything for a night and showed her that she could still live her life, even if shitty things are happening to and around her right now. She didn’t have to indulge on the depressing part of it all, she was a strong girl, she just had to face it all and move on. She was still sad about the things that were going on, but she was getting better at not letting it show and just trying to push forward in her life. She wasn’t back to normal yet, but she was starting to be on her way there. She was still much quieter than usual, but she wasn’t keeping to herself as much anymore, she was actually talking to some people. The only time she really got sad again was when she thought about everything or saw Brandon, James, Lizzie or Ariel in the hallway.
Here she was in art class, which was actually her favorite class, mainly because she was good at it. She wanted to become a fashion designer and sketching designs is what she did in her free time anyways and she was pretty good at it. Her current piece wasn’t close to being finished, but it was halfway done and she liked the outcome so far. Art was a good therapy, she had to admit, it let her just go into another world, a creative one. Ms. Evans had announced that it was time to clean up, ’where did the time go?’ she thought as she finished up her last color in and stood up to start putting the supplies away. She had been a lot more into her art work lately in class, mainly because she wasn’t talking as much as she usually did, and she was actually concentrating on her school work.
The bell had rung right when Beccah put the last art supply away and headed back to her desk, gathering her things and putting them into her bag. She heard her name be called as students filed out and she looked up, ”uh yeah,” she said a little confused. Had she done something wrong? Or was this another one of those… ‘I know you’re going through a lot but you can always come to me’ talks she had been getting from most of her teachers. She wasn’t sure what it was, but she liked Ms. Evans, so she wasn’t going to just assume the worst. When she finished putting away her things, she looked around, seeing the class was now empty. It was already after school and even though Beccah didn’t have any plans really, she didn’t want to be stuck here too long. She walked over to the front desk, ”what’s up?” she asked calmly, the normal beccah would have probably given off a bitchier tone, just because that was how she rolled, but this beccah was calm and more aware of the way she treated people.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style,width: 350px; padding: 10px; background-image: url(http://i.imgur.com/w6MZf.png);] I was dreaming for so long
Katy knew that Rebeccah was confused as to why she was being asked to stay after class and in all reality, she didn't blame her. Mostly when teachers asked students to stay after class it was because they were in trouble or something. Lately though, Katy knew that Beccah probably got asked to stay after classes a lot to talk. Everyone knew the drama that was happening in Beccah's life and had seen the effects that it had on her.
As she looked at the girl in front of her though, she could see a small change in her. She didn't look as lost and confused as she had in recent days. She couldn't help but smile lightly at that fact. She always knew that Beccah would get past this dark patch in her life and be okay. She was strong individual. She walked around to the front of her desk and leaned against it.
"I just wanted to start by saying that you aren't in trouble. In fact, you are doing wonderful in this class. Your drawings are absolutely wonderful. And I know that you are going to take the fashion industry by storm," She paused as she smiled at Beccah. It was all true though. Beccah had natural talent when it came to fashion.
"I also wanted to let you know, that despite everything that you are going through, you are handling it better than most people that I know. You are a strong person, Beccah and I know that you will get through this dark patch of your life. i can already see the progress you have made to get back to your normal self." She smiled lightly at her. She hoped that she wasn't overstepping any lines, but she figured Beccah needed to hear something different that hadn't been said by every other person in this school.
Though as she thought about it, didn't dating a student's parent already cross that line? She shrugged to herself and shook her head to clear it slightly, returning her attention back to Beccah. She took a deep breath and let it out slowly as her attention drifted to the floor for a minute. Here came the hard part. How did she break it to her? Was she supposed to just come out and say it or break it to her slowly? After a minute she let out another sigh and returned her attention back to Beccah.
"Okay, so, um, over the course of the past few months your dad and I have kinda, sorta been seeing each other," She said and took another deep breath. "But I didn't know that your dad was married, well separated, at the time or I would never have been seeing him." Again she sighed gently, hoping that Beccah wouldn't be angry at her or blame her for her parent's divorce.

Rebeccah hated that everyone knew what was going on in her life, mostly because everyone knew she deserved everything coming to her. She had been head bitch and had made everyone’s life a living hell, not caring how hurt she made them. She knew karma had finally gotten to her which was why she was easing up in certain areas and on her usual victims. She hated the gossip blog person, even though if it wasn’t for that mysterious person, she probably would have never have found out about ariel and Brandon. She didn’t care though, she knew people were talking about her or laughing at her behind her back, but she couldn’t let that get to her. Not anymore, at least. She had to move on from it and it definitely helped that she was graduating soon, so she’d be away from the high school life and onto better things. She’d be surrounded by new people, sure, some of her fellow classmates would be around but not enough to bother her.
Rebeccah leaned a little on the nearest desk to her, but kept her eyes on Ms. Evans, giving her full attention. She didn’t look mad so maybe she wasn’t in trouble? She watched as her teacher walked around her desk and leaned against her own, still facing Beccah. She couldn’t help but grin widely at the compliment on her art skills and the fact that she commented on her potential in the fashion world, ”thanks, that means a lot,” she nodded, meaning those words. It was still so weird being nice and genuine towards an individual, but lately, Beccah couldn’t help but be anything but. Hell, weeks ago, she even had a heart to heart with Ryan, who was one of her main annoyances in school and at home, but to be honest, the kid was actually like another brother to her.
Beccah tensed up a bit when Ms. Evans brought up everything she was recently going through, but she gave a different speech than most of her other teachers had, which she was grateful for. ”it hasn’t been easy but… I’m getting there,” she nodded, ”thanks, I’m really trying and I do… feel better than I did last week, so that’s a start,” she gave a shrug. She didn’t want to get too into detail but it was nice to hear that her change in getting better was noticed, she hated being seen as the depressed girl, it was annoying and it wasn’t like her. Beccah narrowed her eyes a bit as she noticed a change in her teacher’s body language, she actually looked quite nervous all of a sudden, almost like she was holding something back. If Beccah was good at anything, it was reading people, and she knew that something was up but she couldn’t really understand what.
Beccah decided not to question it, wanting Ms. Evans to collect herself before she said whatever she had to say. Their gaze met again and the words finally came out, bringing a shocked look to Beccah’s face. ”wait, wait, wait… so the rumor was true? And you’re the teacher he’s been dating?” she asked, surprised but a little relieved. When she had first heard the rumor, she wasn’t sure what to make of it, and she couldn’t really even pick who her dad would be dating out of all the teachers in the school. She looked away for a moment, obviously lost in her own thoughts, ”wow,” she said trying to process it. She wasn’t mad, nor did she blame her for her parents’ separation. In fact, to be honest, she knew the separation was coming, it was just a matter of time before one of them filed for divorce.
Rebeccah wasn’t stupid, she knew her parents had fallen out of love years ago, she just didn’t know they were separated already. ”did you know he was my dad?” she asked, just wondering if she knew that fact, ”how did you two even meet?” she asked another question. There was so much she wanted to know, mostly because she didn’t even think they would cross paths. Sure, they had a recent back to school night, but her mom had been there, hadn’t she? ”so what now? Are you… guys still seeing each other? Or are you guys going to after the whole… you know?” she said, still not being used to saying the word divorced.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style,width: 350px; padding: 10px; background-image: url(http://i.imgur.com/w6MZf.png);] I was dreaming for so long
Katy smiled at her and nodded. "It's no problem. It is true after all," She said, "But when you do make it big, clothes are always a good way to thank your former teachers. Especially me." She smiled at Rebeccah to let her know that she was only kidding about it. She nodded again at Beccah's statement about how she was slowly returning to her old self and how it wasn't easy, but she was slowly getting there. "It is a start. A very good start. And just remember that you have people that care about you that you can always turn too."
She sighed gently at Rebeccah's questions and nodded slightly. "Yeah, the rumors are true," She said with a small nod. "And it was me." She didn't know if Beccah was happy with this revelation, but at least she wasn't screaming or seemed to be getting angry. That was a good start. Maybe she wouldn't be mad about it after all. Still, she was a little nervous that once it fully sunk in, she might get mad.
When Beccah started asking the questions, she let out a small sigh of relief. She still didn't seem mad, just curious. She shook her head lightly at the question. "No, when I first met him, I didn't know he was your dad. It wasn't until the conferences when I found that out." She thought back to the memory of when she first met Jude and couldn't help but laugh lightly as a smile spread across her face. She shook her head lightly and looked up at Beccah again. "I met your dad at the grocery store when he accidentally spilled a whole bunch of limes on the floor. It was just a funny sight." She couldn't help but chuckle lightly again at the thought. She sighed gently at Beccah's next batch of questions. She really wasn't sure what was going to happen between the two after the divorce was finalized. Sure they had made plans to go to New York together and actually try to be a couple, but what if Jude changed his mind. She shrugged gently. "I would like to," She admitted to Beccah. "But I don't know if your dad feels the same way. We agreed to wait until after the whole, um, thing, was resolved to start anything else, but I don't know."

Rebeccah let out a small laugh, ”I’ll be sure to remember that,” she loved that Ms. Evans had a sense of humor, it was refreshing. Beccah hadn’t really talked too much with this teacher before, but she was glad she was now. Plus, it was nice to know when someone else believed in you, it only boosted your confidence more and right now, Beccah really needed that. Beccah nodded and bit her lip, she knew she had people that cared and that she could talk to, but as the days went on, it felt like she was losing one more person. First Brandon, then Lizzie, Ariel, James, even Anna hadn’t talked to her since everything went down. And most recently, she had lost Bailey, who she thought she’d never lose. She even gained a new enemy in someone she didn’t even know, Brooke Donovan. Beccah’s world seemed like it was just one big chaotic mess, she just wanted to graduate already so that she could get out of high school.
Rebeccah nodded as her teacher answered all of her questions, still trying to process it all. She made a face when she said she found out at the conferences that he was her dad, figuring that the conferences were how she probably found out that he was married too. She couldn’t help but chuckle a bit as she told her how the two met, ”what a dork,” she shook her head, ”that’s my dad, for ya.” They’re meeting sounded cute and funny, and Beccah had to admit, she was glad that the men in her household were finding love. She had lost hers, but she was becoming less selfish and she was truly happy for Jason, Ryan, and her dad, even if she hated her brother’s girlfriend. ”well, he has been staying home more, I don’t know if that’s because of you or because of everything’s that’s been going on, or both, but… “ she nodded, ”I like you for him,” she admitted.
Ms.Evans was one of the very few teachers that didn’t annoy Beccah, she got irritated easily when it came to authority over her. If her dad liked Ms. Evans, then something had to be great about her, right? Her dad was getting out of a very long marriage and was already finding something with her. ”Well I hope he does,” she shrugged, not really knowing what was going on in her dad’s head. She had tried to stay clear because he had looked stressed lately, but she knew that was because of her mom. ”thanks for telling me, I was starting to wonder who the mystery lady was,” she said with a light smile, ”it doesn’t bother you that he has kids?” she asked, just curious. ”especially kids you’re a teacher of,” she smiled a little, thinking it was sort of funny, it was such a small world.
