It was summer vacation and she was officially out of high school, which she was more than happy about. She was so over high school and she just wanted to move forward with her life, especially after the year she had had. She had been through so much and was constantly reminded of everything that happened, whenever she saw certain people or someone made a comment to her. She felt like she was always being watched; almost as if everyone was just preparing for her to just have some sort of meltdown in the middle of the hallway or class. She felt like everyone knew everything about how sad her life had become and she was seriously just starting to hate it. She wasn’t in the depression stage anymore; she had healed for the most part, despite the recent rejection she got when her then close friend, Bailey, chose another girl over her. As confident as she was, she was scared that she’d never be one hundred percent good enough for anyone. She always messed up or there was just someone better out there for the person, she hated how low her self confidence had plummeted down. Who knew that Rebeccah Walker would ever reach that point of low self esteem? It wasn’t either though, going through all the shit she had been through over the last year. She lost loved ones, friends, family, boys, etc. It was like a never-ending cycle of unfortunate events.
People always said that it got worse before it got better, no matter what was going on, and finally, she was able to experience that for herself. Things were getting better though, she was at a better place, she was cheerful again, and she was almost back to her old self, just much tamer and not as much of a bitch. You really did learn a lot once karma came back for your ass but she wasn’t going to let all that new self-awareness go to waste. She was going to get back out there and start living again, she had made a plan to go out by herself tonight and look damn good while doing it. She was on summer vacation damn it and she was done being locked up in her house for too long again, it was time to present the new and improved Beccah.
She walked inside of club Verona, which she hadn’t gone in for too long, she forgot how much she loved the place and how fun the environment was, no matter who you were with. She smiled as she looked around; it was just as she remembered. She couldn’t wait to see where the night would take her, the girl had so many memories here, some even flashed through her mind as she made her way to the bar. Most of the memories were with Ariel, her ex best friend, but even if they weren’t friends anymore, she still couldn’t help but think of their times their, hitting on hot boys and getting drunk off their asses. Ariel was such a good wing woman, hell, they both were, when James went through his little party slut phase, they had become a party trio.
”hi, can I get a screwdriver please?” she asked the bartender confidently, he didn’t even bother to ask her for her i.d., but if he would have she would have had her fake i.d. ready to go for him. She looked around to see if she could spot any cute guys so far, she liked scoping out the place before she really made any sort of move. She looked back to the bar when her drink was presented before her, taking a hold of the glass, smiling lightly. She hadn’t even drank alcohol as much as she used to, she drank a glass of wine here or there, but she never got drunk. She was afraid that she’d get emotional or do something stupid like drunk dial Brandon or Bailey. She refused to make herself look stupid, especially with them, she hadn’t even seen either in so long, which was definitely a good thing.

Hayden was going crazy. Not literally crazy where she needs to be locked up, but more of a stir crazy. She had been in her apartment for the day, unpacking the last few boxes she had and trying to find places for everything. Granted, she didn't have much stuff so it wouldn't have been that hard, but she was a perfectionist. Everything had a place and she was determined to make sure it wound up in the right place.
She looked up at the clock and noticed the time and sighed. She couldn't do it anymore. If she didn't get out of this apartment and soon, she was going to lose it. She sighed and headed into her bedroom to get changed to go out. During one of her walks, she had noticed a club. While the club scene wasn't really her, she figured a change could be good. Besides, while she never partied, she did enjoy music and dancing. She studied her closet for a few minutes before pulling out one of the few dresses that she had that could seem to be for a club. She quickly got ready, making sure that everything was in place and there was not one strand of hair where it wasn't supposed to be. When Hayden was happy with her appearance, she grabbed her bag and phone from the dresser. She then headed out of her bedroom, grabbing her keys before heading outside and to her car.
The drive to Verona wasn't a long one and she was able to find a parking spot almost instantly. She parked her car and got out before heading to the entrance and going inside. She walked over to the bar and found an open spot. She got the attention of the bartender and he walked over to her. "Um, can I have a coke, please?" She asked him. He nodded at her and got her, her drink. She thanked him and turned away from the bar to observe the people on the dance floor. She wondered if it would be hard to meet people in this town. She had never been the new girl before with no friends so this was quite the change for her.

Rebeccah shifted in her seat as she got comfortable and placed her clutch in front of her as she took a sip of her beverage, the taste of the orange juice and the vodka mixed together brought a light smile to her face. It was her favorite mixture, but she couldn’t even remember the last time she had it. She wondered if because she had gone so long without drinking if alcohol would hit her faster, now that her body wasn’t used to it anymore, but either way, she wasn’t going to abuse it. When she felt that good buzz, she’d know when to stop and pace herself; she always had been good when it came to alcohol consumption. ”mmm”, she said to herself as she set the glass back down on her napkin.
She wasn’t sure what or who she was exactly looking for tonight, but she knew she needed a night out and she needed to meet some new people. She was a fun and spontaneous girl, she had just been holding back due to her recent state of depression, but here she was, back in action and she had a lot of locked up energy to finally unleash. She ran a hand through her long brown wavy hair as she turned in her seat a beat, taking a look around at the people dancing. This was one of the most well known clubs in the city, especially for college students. Though Beccah never really went to just meet people, but to hit on older boys or just have a good time with her friends, this time she was actually looking forward to meeting future classmates. She was going to be in college after summer vacation and she’d be damned if she walked into that place without at least knowing a few people already. The girl was talented in networking and she had to get her start somewhere and that place was here, a place where people with similar party personality types as her.
’Um, can I have a coke, please?’, she heard a small feminine voice ask, which took a hold of her attention. It was the seat beside her, a pretty well-dressed female had sat door and ordered a soda. Beccah frowned and examined the space around them, was she here alone? she wondered. When she saw no one join here she smiled a little as she took another sip,”Are you pregnant?” she asked, ”….someone’s designated driver?”, she added a second question ”or is alcohol just not your thing?” she added to her previous questions, ”You should treat yourself on a night so young, you know…” she said in a gentle tone and took another sip of her drink ”I’m Rebecah, by the way, and it hink you should loosen up.”

Hayden continued to look around the club as she took a small sip of her soda. Her attention was drawn to her side when she heard someone speak up next to her, asking if she was pregnant. Her eyes couldn't help but widen at the question. Pregnant? If she wasn't so shocked, she would probably be laughing right now. She had never been in a relationship let alone hooked up with a guy. Unless she was the next Virgin Mary, she wasn't pregnant.
She turned on her stool so that she was facing the girl that spoke. She couldn't help but admire her outfit. The girl had fashion sense, that much was clear. She shook her head at the girl's questions. "No, I'm not pregnant and I came alone so I am no one's DD," She told her and smiled lightly. She gave a small shrug. "And I just don't really drink." She shrugged lightly at the girl's next statement. "I would, but I have things to do later." She shrugged again before taking a sip of her drink. She smiled at Rebeccah lightly. "Nice to meet you, Rebeccah," She said, "My name is Hayden." She sighed when Beccah suggested that she should loosen up. It seems like she had been told that her whole life but part of her just didn't know how. It was not something that she was accustomed to doing. She was always the responsible one that got done what needed to be done when it needed to be done. "And who says this isn't me being loose?" She knew though that the girl in front of her wouldn't buy it. in fact, she doubted that anyone would buy it when she said it. She was like one of the most uptight people there probably was, but she figured that was how she had to be. She was the one that was always busy taking care of her dad that she didn't know how to be anything else.
