It was finally the mini vacation and weekend Jude had been waiting for, his weekend long date away with Katy. The divorce was final and he was now a free man again, officially. If this weekend date went as well as expected, he hoped he wouldn’t be technically ‘free’ for long. He really wanted to be with Katy, but he knew that she didn’t trust him anymore, so he didn’t want to rush things, he was going to do things right with her. He hadn’t ‘dated’ anyone in forever, not like this, so he knew he’d have to get used to it again. He wasn’t nervous though, Katy made things easy and he really liked her, even if it was still early in their… whatever it was that was between them.

It was 10:04am on a Friday and they had finally made it to their hotel in New York. Jude got them one room with two queen sized beds, just in case Katy wanted her own bed, he didn’t want to seem like a dick for assuming they’d sleep together. He wanted her to be as comfortable as possible, he even offered to get her her own room, but she didn’t seem to mind sharing one, which pleased him. This was supposed to be their weekend together and he really wanted to make it a good one. He was glad that they were going away though, even if they were going to city where his now ex-wife resided in. He didn’t think they’d run into her, but it was a little odd knowing that she was possibly in the perimeter. Jude wanted to experience New York City with Katy though, they had both loved the city and it just seemed like the perfect place to rekindle that romantic flame between them, not that it had never truly gone away.

They had both started to unpack a bit before really starting the fun stuff, when he was done he flopped down onto one of the beds with the hotel’s activity book. They were in the penthouse of the hotel, Jude had expensive taste when it came to traveling, plus he wanted Katy to feel special. This was his time to really show her how he felt about her; he wanted her to know that he was completely dedicated to dating her. He hated that he had even lied to her in the first place, but he had gotten a second chance and that’s all that mattered. He wasn’t going to screw it up again though, hell no. He was going to make it work, plus he truly thought he could see himself possibly falling for her one day.

He flipped through the booklet as Katy continued unpacking and putting things in their place. ”So what do you want to do first? They’ve got…. Massages…bars… a pool…. Restaurants… or we can go sightseeing? We can go watch a musical tonight if you want?” he asked, still looking through the booklet. He was excited to see all of the stuff he’d get to do with her. Whenever he was in New York, he was always doing work related stuff, he never really got to really experience the city and this weekend was exactly about that. He looked over his shoulder to look at her and patted the space next to him, ”relax a bit and come here, you can finish that later,” he smiled lightly in her direction.

Katy could hardly sleep the night before. The day had finally come for Katy to go with Jude Walker to New York City, her favorite city ever. She had spent the previous night packing and repacking, wanting to make sure that everything would be perfect and that she had everything she needed. She had managed to get a few hours of sleep before her alarm went off and she had to get up to get dressed so she could head to the airport.

In all honesty, the next few hours flew by and before she knew it, her and Jude were checking into their hotel and heading up to their room. She was both relieved and slightly disappointed when they got to the room and she noticed two queen beds in there. She was happy to see that Jude didn't just assume things though. Plus, at this moment in time, she really wasn't sure where they stood. A part of her knew that she was falling for him, hard and fast, but another part had broken when she found out that he was married and it still wasn't healed. She threw her suitcase on a bed and opened it as she began to unpack it. One thing that Katy hated was living out of a suitcase. Whenever she went somewhere, the first thing that she did was unpack.

Katy looked up from unpacking for a minute as he spoke to her. She shrugged lightly at his question. She really wasn't sure what they should do first. Not only did the hotel offer many things for them to do, but New York itself presented loads of fun and exciting opportunities. She turned to look at him when he mentioned sightseeing or catching a musical. She didn't remember a time that she actually saw a musical in New York City.

When Jude looked at her and patted the spot next to her, telling her to relax, she smiled lightly, before setting down the article of clothing she had in her hand and walking over to him. She sat down on the bed before lying down beside him. She turned her head slightly to the side to look at him. After a moment, she finally spoke up. "What we could do, is we can go visit a few sights and then go to a musical later." She paused for a minute as she thought about the possible plans. "It is pretty much impossible to visit all the sights New York has to offer in one day. Well, if you actually want to admire and appreciate them that is. Plus, a musical sounds fun. I don't think I have actually been to one in New York before. I have heard that they are really good though."

Jude knew that these three days in New York would be eventful and full of activities that he never really got to do whenever he came. Plus, he wanted to spend some alone time with Katy, it had been too long since they last were able to just have fun together without all of the drama. He wasn’t sure what exactly he wanted to do, but what he was sure about was doing them with her. She made excellent company and this time around, he was finally being 100% honest with her. He didn’t mean to keep his marriage and kids from her, but he had to, due to his situation at the time. He didn’t even expect to fall for her when he first met her, but damn was he starting to. Just being in her presence made him feel good and seeing her smile, made him smile.

He smiled lightly when she finally joined him and readjusted himself so that he was on his side, his body facing hers. He nodded lightly at her picks, ”sounds like a plan. Empire state building is first though,” he winked and flipped another page in the booklet. ”we can look at the signs while we’re out to see which musical we want to see,” he suggested as he finally closed the book. ”we’ve got an entire weekend to see all the sights we want,” he smiled her way, he loved the sound of the word ‘we’ referring to them, it just made him happy at the mere mention. ”you haven’t? well we both get to show each other something new here, then” he said with a grin.

”I went to watch Wicked a few months ago with my daughter here, we needed some daddy daughter time, so we came here, just us,” he smiled as the memory flashed through his mind. ”the boys were soooooo jealous,” he laughed, ”they made me promise to take them somewhere, just us guys.” He hadn’t taken them on the trip yet, mostly because everything started to fall apart in the Walker family household and there was never really a good time, but he had to make a mental note to remember to look into it when he got back home.

While Katy was slightly nervous to be in New York alone with Jude, she couldn't help but be excited. It was nice for a change to get away from the drama of Velocity and back in the city that she loved. Besides, she was excited to see where things would end up with Jude. When she had first met him, she hadn't even been looking to get into a relationship. Still, she had to admit that she loved the time they had spent together thus far and to say that she wasn't starting to fall for him would be a lie.

When she felt him move next to her, she turned her head slightly to look at him. She smiled at him as she laughed lightly at nodded. "Yes! I was actually going to suggest that we go there first. It is amazing at the top." She nodded again at his suggest to look at the signs to see what musicals were going on. She smiled at him and shook her head. "Nope. Every time I wanted to go and see one, it didn't work into my schedule. And you are right, we both get to show each other something new this weekend." She thought for a minute before turning her attention back to him. "I think that tomorrow night, we need to go hit up some bars in Time Square. There are some amazing ones there and Times Square is always better at night. It is so vibrant and colorful."

Katy smiled at him as he talked about the bonding moment he had with his daughter in New York. She had always liked his kids, even before she knew they were actually his kids. "Aw, that sounds nice. Did you enjoy the show?" She asked him. She laughed when he mentioned his son being jealous. "That should be fun. Any idea where you want to take them yet?"

Jude smiled when she said she was about to make the same exact suggestion for their first stop, ”great minds thinks alike,” he grinned. ”So you’ve told me, I brought a camera too, so we can be super tourist-y and take pictures during our little trip,” he said happily. He was really excited to see the sights he never got to really pay attention to when he came to New York, he hated that he had come to a city so beautiful but only was able to stick around for business or some social event with his ex-wife. ”I think that sounds perfect, he chuckled, ”So it looks like we have most of our plans set, when you think of more, let me know. I was hoping we could check out the night life, so that works out perfectly.”

Jude nodded, ”yeah, it made me look at Wizard of Oz differently, but in a good way, I liked it way more than I expected to, that’s for sure.” Jude thought for a moment and shook his head, ”Not yet, maybe something like the bajamas or something, I’m going to let them pick,” he nodded. He pushed the booklet aside and looked at her with a smile, ”so, you ready to start our first day in New York together?” he asked happily. He wanted to touch her, even if it was as simple as touching her cheek, but he knew he still had to refrain, at least that’s how he felt. He felt like he had something more to prove to her before they get any sort of intimate again. ”I’m ready to head out whenever you are,” he smiled.

Katy laughed lightly and nodded at his comment. "Yes, that seems to be the case," she told him and smiled at him. "That is awesome! I also brought my camera too! I always love acting tourist-y. It makes things a lot of fun." She smiled at him again. She nodded her head slightly. "It seems like we do have our plans set for the most part. And I am sure that I will think of more. There is just so much to see in this city." She laughed lightly as her excitement level rose. "One thing we should do is go to a karaoke bar tomorrow night. Those are always so much fun! Crazy, but fun."

She nodded when he told her a little about Wicked and couldn't help but smile at him. "Well, that is good. I kinda like things that make you like them more than originally anticipated," She told him and smiled again. She nodded. "The Bahamas would be good. It is pretty there, plus, there is a lot of things to do. There is also a lot of scantily clad females for them to enjoy," She told him with a small smirk. She nodded again when he asked if she was ready to head out and got off the bed, grabbing her bag. "Yup, I am ready to go!" She couldn't help the little clap and jump she did. She was just so excited to be here. She had always loved this city and she was glad to be back. It had been far to long since she had been here last.
