It had been thirty minutes since her and Aiden had woken up and after laying in bed for awhile, he was told to go to the store. She frowned as he reluctantly got out of bed, pulling him back down, kissing him for a few second, "Hurry back, yeah?" He nodded, quickly getting dressed and leaving. A few minutes later, she got out of bed, pulling his tshirt over her head and walking into his bathroom. She turned on the shower, stripping the rest of her clothes off. Her head was pounding and she felt disgusting. She made a mental note to never drink as much as she had the night before. She got into the shower, staying in until her headache subsided and finally got out, putting her hair into a bun on the top of her head and putting her clothes on from last night. She was grateful that they didn't look like she had been out in them, she still had to meet Aiden's mom today and she didn't want to meet her in second day clothes. Once she was dressed and her make up was done, she decided it would be best to go downstairs. She didn't want to seem like she was hiding out in his room, especially since Aiden had said if he wasn't there she could go downstairs and do whatever she wanted. She walked out of his room and downstairs, into the kitchen. She opened the fridge, taking out the orange juice and pouring herself a glass. She sat down at the table, pulling up her messages on her phone, texting Aiden to hurry back. She took a sip of her orange juice, switching to her camera app on her phone, taking a picture of orange juice, sending it to Aiden adding the caption, 'are you proud of me? I came downstairs all by myself'. It wasn't long after that that a pretty, older lady came in, "Hello, I'm Sara," She smiled warmly at her, assuming that it was his mom. words: 341 outfit:heretagged: Steph/Mama Steele

Veronica put the last of her jewelry on and looked at her reflection in the hotel mirror, making sure she was presentable to be out in public. She brushed her teeth with her traveling toothbrush; a girl never knew when she wouldn’t end up back at home. She made sure to be quiet through it all, mainly because Jonah was still asleep on the hotel bed. She wasn’t worried of waking him up though, the man could sleep through a tornado if it came, but she still didn’t want to take the chance. She hated the awkward morning goodbyes, plus she had to get back home. An alert showed up on her cell phone as soon as she put her toothbrush back into her bag and she looked at it, it was a text from Aiden letting her know that he was leaving to the store now. She smiled, she had sent him a grocery list through text just minutes before, to get him out of the house so that she could sneak back in and he wouldn’t even know she was gone in the first place.
Her car was still in the driveway, thanks to one of her model friends picking her up so they could go have their night out. She ended up calling Jonah and taking a cab to meet him up at a hotel by the end of the night, he was really starting to grow on her and she found herself seeing him a lot more. He wasn’t only a beast in the sheets, but he was actually funny and interesting. She didn’t care that he was married, hell, obviously he wasn’t happily married if he was lying in bed with her every other night. She didn’t mind being the other woman, she sort of enjoyed it.
She gave herself one last look in the mirror then when she was happy with the results she stepped out of the restroom and towards the door. She looked back around the room to make sure she didn’t forget anything, then her eyes wondered over to his half covered naked body and she grinned. She made her exit and called a cab, which didn’t take long to arrive. She was home within minutes and still no Aiden, since his car wasn’t in the driveway. She didn’t want him knowing that she had been out all night, sure, she could lie and say she slept at a friend’s house, but she didn’t like lying to her kids. She paid the driver and headed towards her front door, fumbling in her purse for her keys.
She finally found them and walked inside, putting her things down but stopped when she heard noise in the kitchen. Aiden wasn’t there, maybe it was her brother, Xavier or her other son, Brandon. She left her purse on an empty seat and walked towards the kitchen which was connected to the dining area, she didn’t find either male, but a pretty little red head sitting at the table. ”Hi…” she said examining her a bit, she had never seen the girl before, but when she said her name, it started to ring a bell. ”Ah, Sara. The new girlfriend,” she said walking around the table a bit and towards the kitchen counter, ”I thought you were my other son, Brandon. I always tend to find him in the kitchen,” she chuckled a bit.
She wondered if Sara heard the front door open and close, connecting the dots that she had just got in, but she wasn’t going to mention it. She felt her throat get a little dry and she walked towards the cabinet and grabbed herself a glass, ”I see you’ve made yourself at home,” she said putting some ice cubes in her glass. She stayed quiet for a moment and opened the fridge, filling her glass with water. She put the pitcher of water back in place and grabbed her glass, walking over to the table and sitting across from Sara. ”I was wondering when I was going to get to meet you. I’m Aiden’s mom, but you can call me Veronica,” she smiled, her eyes going over the girl. so this is who Aiden chose over Lizzie? she thought.
Lizzie was like a daughter to Veronica, so she didn’t really want to like Sara, but she was never that type of person, so she was going to form her own opinion. Plus, Aiden had been with Lizzie for what felt like forever, if Aiden was sure that Sara was what he wanted, then so be it. There had to be something about this girl that he fell for. Veronica had to admit, she never pegged aiden ending up with a strawberry blonde, but then again, he didn’t necessarily have a type. He was just like his older brother and father, just plain ‘girl’ were their type. She took a sip of her water, ”You two have a sleep over?” she asked, testing the girl a bit and tilting her head a little, wondering if the girl assumed she was like other mom’s or if Aiden had told her anything about her.

Sara tried her hardest to keep the smile on her face, but it was harder with every passing second. She knew that she was going to be compared to Lizzie, and she wasn't exactly sure that she was any better than Lizzie. Her and Lizzie were very different and Sara wasn't sure exactly how to respond to the woman's first statement, but she composed herself after a few moments, the smile on her face not faltering, "That I am." She laughed a little at her next statement, "I haven't had the pleasure of meeting him yet - but I hope I do soon. I've heard stories about him." She took the pause in conversation to take a long drink of her orange juice, setting her glass down when his mother spoke again, "Aiden said I could get whatever I needed," She paused, her lips curling up into a smile, "I hope that's okay with you." Sara pushed her back up so she was sitting straighter when his mom sat across from her, "It's nice to finally meet you too." She held her hand out to the woman, or Veronica since she finally knew her name, "It really is nice to meet you, Veronica." She smiled a little at her when she brought up the sleepover and nodded, "I guess we figured spending a few night here would be better than spending every night at my house. This was actually the first time I've been here." She bit on her lip, a little nervously. Impressing people's parents had never been anything that she had to worry about. Her last and only other boyfriend's parents had known her since she was a child so they already loved her. Veronica, on the other hand, probably held it against her that Aiden wasn't with Lizzie anymore. At least, that was Sara's thinking on it. She was trying her hardest to be polite, but not polite enough that she thought that she was stuck up. She wanted Veronica to like her - she didn't want to be with someone who's parents didn't like her. Not that that would cause her to break up with Aiden. She had made it very clear to Aiden and herself that he was her's that wasn't going to change just because of his mother. words: 394 outfit:heretagged: Steph/Mama Steele

Veronica kept her eyes on the younger girl, wanting to read her body language as she spoke to her. She had been interested in meeting the girl ever since she first heard about her, Aiden seemed excited about her, even if he tried to hide it from his mother. She knew why he was being so cautious though; it was mostly because of how close she was with Lizzie and how sad she was to hear that they were done for good. Her son’s happiness meant the world to her though and she trusted his judgment. Both of her boys knew what they wanted and took it before it got away, they had always been like that, so she was never too worried when it came to their choices. ”Really?” she rose a brow, surprised that she hadn’t met Brandon yet. ”are you new in town or something?” she asked interested, ”all I really know about you is what Aiden has told me, which is that… you’re apparently the best thing that’s ever happened to him,” she said taking another drink of her water. ”I do have to admit, he’s been… more…considerate since he met you. for example, usually when I tell him to go to the grocery store I get a complaint, but today I got a ‘sure mom, I’ll go right now’ with a smiley face,” she smiled.
Veronica nodded lightly, ”of course its okay,” she smiled politely, ”you’re our guest and I’m going to be seeing more of you, yes? So yes…. “ she gave a light shrug, ”help yourself.” ”Just don’t go in my bedroom…. The sex swing might scare you,” she said seriously, but laughed after a few seconds, to show that she was just joking. She took one more sip then placed her glass down, ”really? Well welcome to our humble abode,” she said with a grin. ”How’d the meeting with Merlin go? I’m assuming you met Aiden’s baby,” she laughed lightly. She wondered if Sara knew that Merlin was a gift from Lizzie, hell, whenever Lizzie was over everyone would refer to her as merlin’s mama and aiden the papa. Veronica wasn’t going to mention it, but it was a random thought going through her mind.
So far, the girl seemed really sweet, but Veronica wasn’t sure if that was a good thing or a bad thing. She wanted to see more of her, some spunk or edge, Lizzie had it. She closed her eyes for a second, pushing Lizzie to the back of her head. No, this was Aiden’s new girlfriend and he was in love with her, way quicker than he had fallen for Lizzie so there had to be something about her other than her looks. Aiden never fell just for beauty, that was just what got his attention. She knew her both of her sons, there had to be more to a girl than beauty for them to get tied down. ”So tell me about yourself,” she leaned back in her seat and smiled at her, ”what do you like to do?” she asked.

She nodded a little, smiling, "My dad just got transferred here at the beginning of the summer. Aiden was actually one of the first people I met." She could feel her cheeks flush when she told her what Aiden had said about her and she quickly picked up her glass, taking a sip of her drink, trying to cool her face off. Of course, Aiden had told her quite a few times that she was the best thing that could have happened to him, but it was different coming from his mom. That meant that he was also telling other people that. Sara laughed a little at her next comment, "I think he just needed someone to make him be nice." Her mind flashed back to this morning when he had gotten the text; of course he didn't want to get out of bed and go, but Sara insisted that he go - and be nice about it. It confused her how he could want to buy her a house, yet didn't want to simply run to the store for her. She bit on her bottom lip, halfway smiling, "I sure hope you'll be seeing more of me." She covered her mouth, laughing a little loudly, "I don't know about scare me." She winked at her, her lips forming into a joking smirk. She nodded, "We usually go to my house. You have a really nice house, by the way." Sara couldn't help but laugh a little at the mention of Merlin. They had officially met last night and she had been convinced he was a wolf the whole night. "Oh, yeah. That was the first thing we did when I got here last night. He's a great dog." She paused for a few moments, licking her lips, "Well, I'm really concentrated on school. I have a 4.0 GPA, it would be higher if it could be. I'm in all advanced classes." She paused, licking her lips, "But when I'm not doing that I really like to shop." She laughed a little, "That's a little expected though. I honestly don't do much else. I've just always been concentrated on school. I actually think I'll have enough credits to graduate at the end of this year, as long as I pass my Latin class."words: 386 outfit:heretagged: Steph/Mama Steele

Veronica nodded a bit, understanding how randomly the girl had come into the picture and how she hadn’t known who Brandon was. She smiled lightly as she noticed a light pink rush to the girl’s cheeks, she had to admit, she was adorable and there was some innocence to her, which Veronica didn’t expect. She had expected some man-eating stuck up girl that just liked to take boys away from their girlfriends and have them under their spell, but no, Sara seemed nothing of the sort. In fact, Sara seemed genuine, sweet, and the more she spoke, the more Veronica had to admit, she was impressed. ”Well I’m glad you’re a good influence on him,” she nodded with a light smile, Aiden could really be hardheaded sometimes, so he really did need that sort of influence on him.
Veronica couldn’t help but laugh some more, happy to see that the girl wasn’t all innocent, she definitely had some humor to her. ”Thank you, I like it…” she looked around her own home then back at Sara. ”yeah, he’s a nut… is he still curled up in Aiden’s bed? I swear, that dog sleeps most of the day and is hyper until like 3 in the morning,” she chuckled and shook her head. She took another sip of her ice water as she listened to Sara tell her about herself, smiling more the more she went on. She was truly shocked at what she was hearing, she never expected Aiden to fall for someone so dedicated to school. ”Wow, beautiful and smart,” she grinned, ”do me a favor and make sure Aiden graduates? He’s not dumb, he just doesn’t like to apply himself sometimes.”
”What girl doesn’t like to shop? I should let you raid my closet sometime, they let me take stuff home from shoots all time and half the time I don’t even wear some of the stuff,” she shrugged lightly and she heard her cell phone go off in her purse in the living room. ”Excuse me for one moment,” she said standing up and walking to get her phone, she pulled it out but didn’t answer it, she didn’t want to be rude to Sara. Plus, she was enjoying her talk with her so far and she wanted to learn more before Aiden came home. She ignored the call but brought her cell with her and placed it on the table, taking up her seat again. ”Sorry about that,” she said getting comfortable. ”are you going to get into any extra curriculars?” she asked interested and jumping back into the conversation. She found it admirable that the girl was brand new and had already snagged herself a boyfriend before the new school year even started.

Sara couldn't help but smile - she liked to think that she was a good influence on Aiden and hearing his mom say so just enforced that thought in her head. Honestly, the only thing that she would change about Aiden was the fact that he thought he had to be a hardass all the time. She had never had to see that side of him, thankfully, but she knew it was there. She had seen it when he talked about other people. She laughed a little, "Probably. He was up half the night trying to get Aiden to play with him." She, once again, laughed a little, "I like to think I'm the best of both worlds." She shrugged her shoulders a little, then her face got a little serious, "I don't plan on letting him fail. I wouldn't want to be graduated still dating a guy in high school." She smiled a little, "I know he wants to do football after school, but I want him to realize that can't be the only thing he's good at."Her eyes widen a little as she listens to Veronica talk, "Are you a model? That would be amazing though! I love fashion." When Veronica walked out, she took the chance to text Aiden, letting him know that she was talking to his mom. He replied quickly, asking if everything was going okay and if he should head back, but she replied telling him that it was all good and they seemed to be getting along fine. She was still looking at her phone when Veronica came back in, but she quickly locked it, setting it on the table, "Oh, no its fine. Don't worry about it." She nodded at her next question, "I was actually going to try out for the cheer team. I cheered at my old school, but I haven't decided yet. And I want to get in some community service for my college applications. And I'm sure I'll run for student council." She smiled a little, "I like to be in charge of things."words: 347 outfit:heretagged: Steph/Mama Steele

Veronica laughed lightly,”I’m surprised he let you sleep with Aiden, he’s like his shadow whenever he’s home,” she smiled, it was so cute seeing her son with his puppy. Aiden had never had that father like instinct until the day he got merlin, which was the day he came home after his coma. She loved the way Aiden looked at his dog, it was cute and no one ever got to see him like that outside of his house. She chuckled at Sara’s words, loving the girls confidence, she was definitely more than meets the eye which made Veronica love her more. ”so far I think you are,” she grinned, ”you remind me of a young me, I like you,” she nodded and took another sip of her water, her glass empty now so she places it down on the table with the ice left over.
She perked up when Sara mentioned she didn’t plan on letting Aiden fail, reading the girl internally as she spoke, she chuckled a bit. ”I see where you’re coming from,” she nodded, ”good, I’m glad, yeah, but boys don’t think like that, they think… ooo sports… im good at that… let’s go with that… but they never prepare a backup just in case…. You know?” she sighed and ran her finger along the rim of her glass, staring at it. Her eyes left the glass then went back to Sara, ”good, when I tell him that, he thinks im nagging because I’m his mom, I think it’d be better coming from you… help him find what else he’s good at,” she nodded with a smile. ”when he puts his mind to something, he does a great job,”, she added, ”both of my boys do.” Veronica smiled and nodded, ”yes, Aiden didn’t tell you?” she shook her head, ”yeah? Well then we’ll get along just fine. I can take you on a shoot sometime if you want? We can have a girls bonding day,” she shrugged lightly. ”I try to do local gigs because I hate being away from my kids, but I travel sometimes,” she added.
Veronica was back in her seat, wishing her glass could magically refill itself, but she was too lazy to get up, at least right now, plus she would feel bad if she kept getting up. ”Oh? You should. Cheerleading is fun, I cheered in high school, keeps you in shape plus, when you’re dating one of the football players, its even better,” she grinned, ”that’s how I met Aiden’s dad.” She smiled at the girl, she loved how involved in school she was, Veronica was never like that but she liked that her son’s girlfriend was, it made her feel more confident that he made the better choice in a girlfriend. She felt bad for thinking it, especially since she loved lizzie like a daughter, but it was true. ”ahh,” she chuckled, ”I see one of the reasons why aiden likes you now,” she shook her head. ”you like to be in charge,” she nodded, both of her boys weren’t easy to keep a hold of, but when a girl could, they hung on to them. She didn’t know why, but she realized that in their dating history and she found it amusing.

Sara smiled a little, "He tried to sleep between us, but I didn't let that go on for long." She had expected to get along with Aiden's mom so well, but she was glad that they were getting along so far. Thankfully, she hadn't brought up Lizzie or anything having to do with Lizzie and Aiden. Sara tended to get a little jealous when people brought them up. She smiled at her next statement, "I'm really glad you like me." She paused, laughing a little, "I was really scared that you weren't going to like me at all. I know Lizzie was like your daughter." She almost got jealous just from bringing up Lizzie, but she figured it had to be addressed at some point, just like it had to with Aiden. She laughed along with Veronica, "I know! I just don't get it. I could never not have a back up." She smiled a little, nodding, "He tends to listen to me pretty well, so hopefully I can knock some sense into him." Her face grew softer, "He does a great job at everything. He's just..," She paused, shrugging her shoulders, "He's worth so much more than he thinks and I wish that he could see that. I'm working on it though." She pushed a stray piece of her hair behind her ear, smiling at her softly, "He's really.. Something special." She laughed a little, "I don't know about Brandon, but if he's anything like Aiden, I'm assuming he's just as great." She shook her head, "No, and that's definitely something I would remember. But he doesn't like to talk. I always have to make him." She smiled a little, nodding quickly, "That would be great! I would love that!" She smiled a little, "I would love to travel for work. I used to want to travel to countries where they don't really have access to doctors and stuff and help out over there. My dad didn't want me to be in 'danger' though."She smiled a little, "That was my thought. My boyfriend before I moved here, he hated all of that stuff. So, I think it would be fun to be a cheerleader and date a football player." She smiled a little, "He was a football player too?" She felt her cheeks flush again, and she picked up her drink downing the last of it, chuckling a little as she set the empty glass on the table, "He might have mentioned liking that once or twice," She smiled at her, biting on her bottom lip. "I really am lucky that I have him."words: 436 outfit:heretagged: Steph/Mama Steele

Veronica smiled as a light laugh left her lips, she knew how possessive Merlin was when it came to Aiden. Whenever Aiden wasn’t home, the puppy clung to her, but when Aid was, it was like Veronica didn’t exist. And if Aiden and the dog were comfortable and on the couch, Merlin would growl if anyone came even close to Aiden. ”He must like you too, then,” she smiled and ran her fingers through her wavy blonde hair. She couldn’t help but tense up a bit when Sara mentioned Lizzie, as much as she liked Sara so far, she still wasn’t ready to talk about the giant elephant in the room. She shrugged a little as she gathered herself, ”She still is like a daughter to me, but… as much as I love her, sometimes people are just meant to be in your life for a short period… like… a chapter or two, you know?” She nibbled on her bottom lip a little, ”plus, to be honest, they were good together but… they turned into an old married couple too soon and that’s never good,” she knew it probably wasn’t easy for Sara to hear some of this, but she was going to be honest, ”they’ve been through a lot together for teenagers, but… maybe they just didn’t belong together.” She hated saying the words, but it was true, she loved them both, but they needed other people in their lives, not someone like them. ”Like I said earlier, he’s been different since he started dating you, and I mean a good different,” she nodded, ”you must be special,” she smiled lightly.
She really hated saying those thing against Lizzie, but she didn’t want to lie to the girl. ”Plus, I like to make my opinion about people, I’m not going to judge others before I meet them, even if I can’t help it,” she said honestly. Veronica sighed a little but smiled again at Sara’s words, ”I know right? I think only girls think of a backup,” she chuckled. She smiled wider at how Sara spoke of Aiden, she loved how good she was of an influence on him. ”Good, I’m glad,” she nodded, she really was excited to see what this girl could make of her son. Aiden was a smart kid, he just didn’t think straight sometimes and he was the type that needed that push. Both of her sons were the same way but she was glad at least one of them had found that person to push them in the right direction. She hadn’t met Brandon’s girlfriend or whatever she was yet, but Xavier had told her good things.
Veronica chuckled, ”he gets that from me, we like to make the other person do more of the talking, or just… not talk at all,” she shook her head. ”awesome, I’ll see what days we can and I’ll let you know,” she said with a nod, happily. She knew Lizzie wouldn’t be too fond of the idea of her hanging out with Sara like they did, but Veronica wanted to get to know her son’s girlfriend more. Her face lit up as the girl spoke about traveling to help people, ”You want to be a doctor?” she asked, ”or a nurse?”. She nodded lightly, ”yeah, he was. He wasn’t very good, but he was,” she shrugged, and chuckled at Sara’s last words. ”He’s lucky to have you too,” she nodded as her phone went off again. She looked at the name on the screen and rolled her eyes, ”one second,” she answered it, ”What Brandon?” She chuckled and shook her head, ”Yessss I’ll have it ready for you in the fridge, jeez. Relax….mhm…. love you too, you fatty,” she said as she hung up the phone. She looked back at Sara, ”you’d think a boy would just want to visit his mom because he misses her, but no, a Brandon sandwich has to be prepared and ready for him when he gets here,” she shook her head. ”word of advice, when you meet him, just make him a sandwich and he’ll love you,” she chuckled.
