Brady Elliot Richardson was back to normal. He was definitely shipping Zoey and Dean. He knew Dean would take good care of Zoey, and even if he didn't, Brady and the rest of Heaven's Seven would be there to catch her if she fell. Brady doubted that would happen but he always was prepared for the worst case scenario, especially as of recently. Tommy had recently been kidnapped, and returned, but he wouldn't leave his house anymore. He stayed in his bed and Brady had tried on multiple occasions to get him out. So had Dean and Nate. He could almost bet that only Jax or Mikey would be able to get Tommy to come out of his house. He knew Jax would be able to when Jax really wanted him to, but he didn't know if Mikey could. Maybe. Those two were close like Brady and Dean. Brady was still having a hard time believing anyone had taken off with Tommy but it had indeed happened. Brady and Nate had been hanging out because Dean had been too busy with Zoey, which was fine with Brady, to really hang out. Dean still had to learn how to balance Zoey and his friends. Brady wasn't offended at all. He just clung to Nate who was always willing to go out. That kid knew how to balance his friends and his girl. Dean would learn with time.
For now, Brady was hanging out at the park. Nate had dedicated the day to his homework and then Stellarella, who was really quite gorgeous. He couldn't touch that though because that was Nate's girl and they were perfectly happy together. He eventually wanted to find someone to make his heart happy because his little sister had gotten someone before him. His sophomore little sister had gotten a boyfriend before he, the junior, had gotten someone. It was kind of pathetic and sad but Brady was so caught up with his friends and his music that he just... Didn't make time to flirt and try to go exclusive with someone. Brady sat on top of the slide, just staring around, and jamming to Justin Bieber on his iphone. Suddenly five or so ten year olds came over and saw him playing angry birds on his iphone. The ring leader of the group put his hand out and said something about the iphone. Obviously, Brady's music was too loud to hear the kid and suddenly, he felt himself falling off the slide. He landed hard in the wood chips and he looked up, seeing the ten year olds. They came all running down, or sliding down the slide, and the ring leader said, "Give me your phone, you idiot. I get what I want around here."
Brady Elliot Richardson had discovered by fighting with Dean, Nate, and Jackson that he was not a fighter. In fact, he still had tape on his nose and a cast around his wrist. His cast was covered with signatures from his friends and Zoey's doodling. Brady got up off the ground and he heard some laughter and all five of the kids were staring at him as he replied, "But this is my phone. You're ten. You don't need a phone." The kid threw a punch and Brady took a step back and then took off running. He didn't want to fight and look stupid when he lost to ten year olds. When they couldn't see him, he crawled up the slide and braced himself so that he was hiding in the middle of the slide. Then he pulled his phone and texted Dean, "Bro, I need you to save me. I'm stuck in the slide at the park hiding from five ten-year-olds. Please?"

Dean was in the middle of his daily run to stay in shape for the coming year. Normally he would have already been done and sitting in front of the TV or hanging out with Brady or Zoey, but today he had gotten a late start. The sun was already brutally hot which is why he always preferred running earlier in the morning. It wasn't nearly as hot. His feet pounded the pavement below him as he kept time with the music blasting through his headphones and into his ears. He found that the angrier the music, the better, especially when running.
As he was running, he heard the ping go off, pausing the music, to signify that he had a new text message. He sighed lightly as he slowed down his jog until he was completely stopped. He took a deep breath and pulled out his Iphone, smirking lightly at the Toy Story alien case that Brady had given him as a an apology gift. He personally loved the case as the aliens were always his favorite characters from Toy Story. He again sighed lightly when he saw that he had a texted message from Brady.
Dean knew that as of late, he really hadn't been a good friend to Brady. He had been spending a lot of time with Zoey and not enough with his best friend. He knew he needed to get better at balancing his time between his friends and his girlfriend, but he was trying. He was still new at this whole relationship thing. He knew that eventually he would get the hang of it and he was glad that Brady was patient with him.
He opened the text from his best friend and immediately burst out into laughter. Of course Brady would be the one to find himself in a situation like this. He quickly typed him a reply. "Be there in a few minutes. Stay put. Don't move...or fall. LOL. Only you, Brady." He pocketed his cell phone again and began to run in the direction of the park. He was glad that he had chosen this route today as it put him less then a block from the park at the moment.
In about five minutes, he had made it to the park. He immediately spotted the slide, circled by little kids and rushed over to it. "Hey, what is going on here?" He asked as he approached the group. The little kids turned towards him to face him and he stopped as he reached them. What he assumed was the ring leader of the group stepped forward. "It's none of your business and I suggest you leave. This is my park and I make the rules here."
Dean couldn't help but laugh at the kid, which earned him a glare. "Kid last time I checked, I ran this park before you were even a thought in your parents mind. I suggest you leave." He could see that his words startled the kid slightly, but not enough. The ringleader cocked back his arm and was about to throw a punch, which Dean easily avoided. "Listen kid. I have been involved in wrestling since I was in seventh grade and have played sports from the moment I was born. I have been in a fist fight with my best friend and have broken his nose. I could kick your ass seven days from Sunday. You don't scare me, not even a little. So again, I suggest that you leave."
While he would never actually get in a fight with a ten-year-old (he wasn't a monster after all) he wasn't above using a few threats. Still, the kid seemed to interpret his message correctly as he saw the fear in his eyes. He looked at his friends before they all took off, scattering in all directions. He smiled lightly to himself and walked over to the slide, hitting it. "B-Rad, the coast is clear. You can come out now," He said, the laughter evident in his voice.

Brady quickly decided that the slide had not been the best hiding spot after all. He didn't want to sit in there all day and it was hot. Plus, he could feel himself slipping and if any one of those kids decided to slide down the slide, he'd be slammed into and he didn't need that. Brady Elliot Richardson already had two broken bones; he didn't need anymore of those. Those kids were scary as hell and now he was cornered. He couldn't slide down now, because they'd probably see him and whenever Brady tried to run, he always fell. So now he was stuck in the slide, and he had to keep adjusting or slip and then get eaten by the sharks that everybody else viewed as cute little ten year olds. In Brady's mind, they were the spawn of the devil and nothing would change that opinion. Brady frowned at Dean's text. It wasn't funny! These kids were scary and they wanted to beat the living shit out of him! "I'm trying not to move, but it's difficult when you're wearing shoes with no traction! Hurry! And I know you're laughing at me so you should stop now. It's not funny! They're scary!" Brady grunted as his foot slipped and he crawled up higher so that he wouldn't fall. He was counting on Dean to hurry his ass up because Brady wasn't going to be able to hold himself up for much longer. Plus, those shark children were getting more heated as they hunted him down. They were also making fun of him and they probably had a pride boost. It wasn't everyday that a small group of ten year olds scared the living shit out of a teenager. They would probably scare Tommy too but Tommy had an excuse. Brady was just a weakling. Brady Richardson breathed a sigh of relief when he heard Dean telling the kids off. His life had just become infinitely better. Dean Torres was definitely a lifesaver. Brady laughed at the kid's cockiness toward Dean, but mostly because Brady had been there, done that. He'd gotten cocky with Dean and it had resulted in a broken nose. Whether Dean would ever punch a ten-year-old was a question Brady would never be able to answer, or care to answer, but he doubted it. When Dean hit the slide, Brady released the body parts that were holding him up in the slide and he came down. He smiled sheepishly at his best friend, "Thanks Dean! You're a lifesaver!" He got up off the edge of the slide and jumped into his best friend's arms, and wrapping his arms around Dean's neck. "You're the best, Sir Torres."Brady let go and looked his best friend over. He was so glad he had someone as muscular as Dean for a best friend. He still wasn't sure how they were friends.. They were basically opposites. Dean was athletic and muscular while Brady was clutzy and tiny. It didn't really matter. They were best friends and that's all that really mattered. He hugged Dean one last time and then took a step back, "Did I interrupt your run? Now I feel bad." He knew that Dean would probably give him shit about this little incident but he'd rather be made fun of than have a bunch of shark children eat him. Dean listened as Brady made his way out of the his hiding place in the slide. He couldn't help but laugh quietly as he listened to him make his way down. It sounded like he might get stuck. However, he finally emerged at the bottom of the slide and he sobered up and put on his poker face, showing now evidence that he had been laughing at his friend only seconds earlier.
He shook his head at Brady's thanks. "Don't worry about it, man," He told him and smiled, "I very well couldn't leave my best friend hanging in his time of need. What kind of friend would that make me?" As Brady jumped off the bottom of the slide and hugged him, he was almost thrown off balance, but managed to catch himself just in time. He hugged him back and laughed lightly. "Aw, well, shucks B-Rad. You flatter me."
When Brady stepped back, Dean did a quick once over of his best friend to make sure that there was no other damage then what had been done previously. He was glad to see that he seemed fine. No matter what differences came between the two of them, they would always be best friends. They had been friends for too long and have been through too much not to stay friends. He would always been extremely protective of Brady as well. And not just Brady, but all of his friends.
He shrugged gently when Brady had interrupted his run. "Eh, don't worry about it. I was almost done. Besides, I can forgo my run to save you from a group of vicious ten-year-olds," He said with a slight smirk, still not outwardly laughing at his best friend. One of the perks of being Brady's friend is that he would be able to poke fun at him for a long time for this. Still, Dean also knew how far he could push the joke and when enough was enough. He also knew that Brady wouldn't take offense to anything that Dean said or would let him know if he had taken it to far.
When Brady mentioned that the kids were sharks, he couldn't hold his laughter in anymore and it all came bubbling out. After a few minutes, he finally sobered up and looked at Brady. "I highly would classify them as sharks. Maybe more of sucker fish."

For a second, Brady thought he was going to get stuck in the slide. He flailed his arms a bit and finally made some progress down the slide. He was glad to be out because he was slightly claustrophobic if he was left in a small space for too long. He didn't want to stay in the slide forever, nor did he want to look stupid by needing Dean to pull on his leg to get him out of the slide. Fortunately for Brady, he was able to get out with a few adjustments and the smile that was on Brady's face after he got out and saw his best friend, was definitely worth the struggle to get out. Brady grinned at Dean's words and replied, "That'd make you a very bad best friend, but anybody else in our little crew wouldn't have come because they would have thought I was joking. You're the only one who took it seriously!" He was surprised that Dean momentarily lost his balance. He raised his eyebrows and replied, "I'm not that fat, am I?" Of course, Brady was kidding. Brady was teeny tiny and the only one smaller than him in the group was Nate. "Of course I flatter you. It's fun." He stuck his tongue out playfully. He loved having Dean around. Brady Elliot Richardson was just glad that Dean was his best friend. Dean was one of those friend you didn't want to lose and Brady had almost lost him during his time of drug use. Detoxing Brady had tried to split up Zoey and Dean, which wasn't right. They were the cutest thing ever and Dean James Torres was perfect for Zoey Richardson, Brady's little sister. He couldn't have made a better match. Brady was just glad that Dean had never given up on him and he was glad that the three boys that had hurt him: Dean, Nate, and Jackson, had hurt him. He wouldn't have come out of it otherwise. Unfortunately, he had to wear a cast for his wrist and ugly tape on his nose. Brady grinned and said, "I'm glad you saved me from the vicious ten year olds! They were scary Dean. They shoved me off the slide and laughed! They were after my phone!" Brady saw Dean's smirk but didn't mention it. Dean would tease him forever about this and god help him if Nate or Jackson found out about it... Especially Nate. Nate would never let it go but it didn't bother Brady. Brady didn't mind being teased because he got teased a lot. He just laughed with the people laughing at him usually because when it was his friends laughing, it was all in good spirit. Brady Elliot Richardson laughed hard with Dean. He knew he was being ridiculous but he couldn't help it. He didn't want to fight anymore and there were five of them while there was only one of them. They would've eaten me if you hadn't shown up!"word count ;; 511 ! tagged ;; dean james torres ! wearing ;; click !muse ;; rock me - one direction ! notes ;; this ought to be fun. I missed Brady !

Dean nodded his head at Brady. "You are right. It would make me a very bad best friend indeed and that just wouldn't work out," He said and smiled. "But you are right. Zoey might have come though. But, I have been friends with you long enough to realize when you are joking...even through text messages." He shook his head when Brady asked if he was fat, knowing his best friend was surprised her had lost his balance for a moment. "No, you're not fat. I just wasn't prepared for you to throw yourself at me. You were like a projectile missile." He laughed lightly. "Well as long as it is fun, I don't mind."
He was glad that his best friend was finally back to normal. He missed this fun-loving Brady that he had known all his life. He still felt a little guilty that he hadn't noticed the change in his friend before it got as serious as it did and it was a guilt he didn't think he would ever be completely rid of.
He listened as Brady told him what the ten-year-olds did and he couldn't help but get slightly angry at them. "Wow, those were some vicious ten year olds," He said once Brady had finished. "Are you okay? No more broken bones from getting pushed off the slide?" He slightly wondered where the parents of those kids were or if they knew what their kids were up to, terrorizing other people.
Dean smiled when Brady laughed with him, knowing that he too saw the humor in the situation. Brady had always been a good sport and this time seemed no different. He shook his head lightly at his statement. "Okay. They might have been sharks, B-Rad, but I doubt they would have eaten you. Last time I checked, ten year olds weren't notorious for being cannibals," He told him with another slightly laugh.

Brady laughed quietly because he knew that Dean could never be a bad best friend. Ever. Dean was the best friend that anybody could ever ask for and Brady still couldn't believe he'd ever lost sight of that. He would make sure that never happened again. He was going nowhere near drugs anymore and if he ever felt the urge to try drugs, he'd just write a song about it instead. Brady would talk to Dean too and just get it off his mind. He was never going to play around with drugs again, that was for sure. "No, it wouldn't work out, considering you're the bestest best friend one could ever ask for!" Brady grinned excitedly. He always got so excited when he was with Dean... Or any of the Heaven's Seven. He just loved his best friends that much. "I'd rather not Zoey fight my fights. She is smaller than me and my little sister. I'd rather you fight my battles and I'm glad you know when I'm joking, even through a text message! Otherwise, who knows where I'd be right now!" Brady grinned a wide, tooth filled, grin just for Dean. He was just so glad to be back to normal. He missed normal self. "Oooo. I'm bragging to all of Heaven's Seven that I made the most coordinated and most athletic person in the group lose his balance momentarily! I better put this on my list of achievements because it'll probably never happen again!!!" Brady smiled again. He was always smiley around Dean, when he was normal of course. How could he not be? Dean was his bestest bestest bestest friend in the whole entire wide world. "You better not mind, because I'm going to continue flattering you for the rest of your whole entire life, even when we're old and having wheelchair races down the hallway and terrorizing the rest of the old people." It was truth. Brady very much planned on being in the same retirement home as Heaven's Seven. He planned on taking over the world with his six best friends, one of which was his little sister. Brady Elliot Richardson would be trying to make up for his horrible behavior towards Zoey forever, which was fine with him. He'd never be bored in life, right? Brady saw the flash of anger across Dean's face but it quickly disappeared. He smiled and replied, "I told you they were vicious shark children!" Brady shook his head vigorously at Dean's next question, "My palms are scraped and my butt hurts but no broken bones as far as I can tell! And if there is, I'll just get another colorful cast. It'll be jolly." Colorful casts were good, right? Then Zoey had more room to doodle and he could get another Dean autograph, just in case Dean ever got famous without him. "I'm pretty sure they would have eaten me. Those are very cannibalistic children. How many ten year olds do you know go around terrorizing teenagers? I think they're vicious enough to eat me!"word count ;; 511 ! tagged ;; dean james torres ! wearing ;; click !muse ;; she's not afraid - one direction ! notes ;; such good comic relief when I've just got done with Tommy !

Dean laughed lightly and shook his head. "Again with the flattery, B-Rad. If I didn't know you so well, I would think you were buttering me up to ask me a favor," He said and laughed lightly. Even though Dean was smiling, he couldn't help but feel a little guilty. While Brady would always be his best friend, when he had gone off the rails with the drugs, Nate had sort of filled in for Brady and had slowly become his best friend as well. They had been keeping it under wraps though so that they wouldn't hurt Brady's feelings.
He nodded when Brady told him that he didn't want to have Zoey fight his battles. "That makes sense. Though I am sure that if she was put in the right spot, she would be able to defend herself just fine," He said and smiled lightly. "And if I hadn't believed you, you would probably be in the stomachs of some cannibalistic ten year olds and we can't have that." He playfully glared at Brady when he told him he was going to brag to all of Heaven's Seven that he made Dean lose his balance. He placed his hand on his chest over his heart. "You would do that to your best friend who just saved your life?"
He laughed lightly at the image that popped into his head of him and Brady having wheelchair races down the hall of a nursing home. He shook his head after a moment. "I see us racing gurneys down the hall. Wheelchair races are too popular," He told him and laughed lightly. He nodded lightly. "They are vicious kids. Vicious kids indeed." He listened as Brady told him the damage and nodded slightly. "You could get another colorful cast. Unless you broke your butt. No colorful casts for butts," He said with laughter in his voice as he said it. "You do pose some valid arguments, B-Rad. So I concede. They might have very well eaten you."
