THE SUN HAS NOW ALL BUT GONE DOWN it'd been awhile since cam had been going to oliver for help after school, and almost as long since they'd been 'dating'. of course, they couldn't do too much together because of the fact that he was a teacher and cameron was still only a student. he knew they couldn't just go out in public and do the things normal couples did, but he didn't mind. he liked the whole 'secret' relationship they had, knowing they couldn't bring it out or make it 'facebook official'. cam didn't care to do any of that anyways, seeing as it was stupid to him and probably wouldn't have told anyone about it even if he was older or mr. evans was a student. it wasn't something he was particularly open about at this point in time. he didn't like to think about the fact that he was gay, he hated that it made his dad hate him, too. though, even with that, he knew there was nothing he could do to change it, especially at this point. he knew that trying to date girls would be even less fun than hating himself for being the way he was. it would be somewhere close to torture.
the bell rang, signaling the end of all scheduled classes. as cam gathered his things, he kept his eyes down, refusing to look up and at the immense amount of people that said they hated him. he didn't want to be hated, but he knew that nobody would ever really like him, not most people at least. he didn't want to think of it like that, but.. he didn't even really like himself that much, how could other people like him? he didn't even really care that much, having gone through his freshman year with almost nobody. he hadn't 'come out' then, though. he hadn't been harassed by the bigger 'jocks', then. he hadn't hated himself then. the truth was, he actually had a few friends, just as much as normal people had, but he had a hard time trusting any of them. he didn't like to think he was some sort of awkward kid that didn't want friends, but he didn't know how to handle being around other people all at one time. school made him more awkward than he should have been, and there was nothing he could really do about it except crawl back into his shell and hide.
it was different with oliver, though.. for some reason, he could handle it. it only helped that mr evans was better than the other teachers for him. he helped him with homework and with understanding concepts in all of his classes, not just science. he was somewhat of a tutor, boyfriend mixed into the lot. he liked their intimate moments, too. quietly, he skipped his locker, walking into oliver's office, shutting and locking the door behind him, only to greet the teacher with a small peck on the lips. "hi." he murmured, sitting down in his normal seat, pulling out some of his work from his backpack. they had kind of designated days for his classes. today just so happened to be writing. quietly, he pulled out an essay he'd been working on the entire week, only a few sentences written. often times, he got frustrated and gave up. the few words that were written had many misspelled words, accompanied by backwards and upside-down letters, as well as a few numbers mixed into the lot. it looked much like a paragraph written by a first grader. he was actually really hoping that today would turn into more of a hanging out day rather than an actual work day.

Without you I'll be miserable at best. Oliver’s day was of the most frustrating he’d had in the full week, making the sight of his last class of the day, and the week one most memorable and treasured. He let out an irritated, exasperated sigh and watched the last hooligan stagger out the door arrogantly, yelling immature things that would surely echo down the narrow hallways. He aggressively shoved papers into different drawers and organized everything perfectly so it would be prepared to leave with him later on, after his tutoring session with his student/boyfriend. He sat down and leaned over, holding his face in his hands and exhaling deeply, reflecting back on his day. It was the first time in the whole year that he raised his voice, almost bringing to tears from frustration. The class was the worst it had ever been and he didn’t know how he handled them normally, as it was that they really weren’t angels on a normal basis. Maybe it had just built up and now it was over Oliver’s toleration point, maybe he just couldn’t handle this age group anymore. He could move up to a professor if he wanted, but it was too late for that, not with Cammy in the picture. School was all they had together and he wasn’t going to give that up.
Oliver knew that it was wrong, what he was doing. Every time he kissed him he reminded himself of that, but then he’d also remember that Cameron is not far from the age that it’s considered acceptable. His maturity shined through those ages in-between them, and as guilty as he felt, he couldn’t give what they had up. He was very, very careful about what he said and how he acted around him in front of other people though. Having studied criminal justices of all types, Oliver knew exactly what he was in for as far as arrest went. He wasn’t going to have sex with the boy until he was eighteen, and that was that. He wasn’t necessarily urging for it anyways, being as it was that he was a satisfied virgin. Sure, he wanted to do it sometimes but that didn’t mean he was crazy about it.
He walked out of his classroom with his shoulder bag slung across both of his shoulders, locking the classroom door before trotting towards his office, the one he’d gotten for his clubs and whatnot. He unlocked the door and dropped his bag on the desk, leaving the door cracked for Cameron, who he was sure would be coming in at any minute. He didn’t really want to go over anything, he just wanted to hang out with him. He was going to invite him over to his house to finish the work, being that it was Friday so it would give him time to cool off. He sat down and waited for a couple of minutes, smiling when he saw his boy walk in, coming forward immediately and sitting down again after their greeting kiss. “Actually, Cam… I was thinking we could work on your stuff at my place tonight, if that’s okay… I just kind of want to… hang out, I guess. Does that sound alright? It’s okay if not.”

THE SUN HAS NOW ALL BUT GONE DOWN cameron smiled a little as his teacher said he wanted to work on things at his house. he'd been to oliver's house before, and they never really ended up studying, just hanging out. mostly snuggling and watching movies. they both knew they weren't ready to go further, and oliver was determined to wait until he was eighteen until they had sex. that was okay, though, he didn't really mind. he actually agreed, because if anyone found out then them having had sex could (and most likely would) make things much worse. they didn't need that, especially right now. all these people were looking down on gay people, and people had always looked down upon teacher student relationships. cam didn't care about that stuff though, he was intrigued by oliver and how he could even enjoy his presence. something was different to him, but it was a good different, a different he wasn't used to. oliver tolerated him and his learning disability that most teachers seemed to write off. he was the first teacher that ever actually wanted to help him with things, not just sit back and watch him fail because it was too hard or took too much work. he felt like oliver genuinely cared about him, and had before they'd gotten together.
"yeah.. yeah, i like that idea." cam said with a small smile, gathering his papers and putting them back into his over the shoulder bag, standing and adjusting his sweater. he looked at him for a moment, eyes looking him over before he stepped up and kissed his lips again. he didn't want to make him uncomfortable, but he wanted to be close, closer than they were at that moment. for a second, he just looked at him, cheeks turning a slight shade of pink. "to tell you the truth, i didn't want to do my work anyways. i hate essays and writing." he said quietly, before heading towards the door. sometimes, he still felt awkward kissing oliver, even though it was a nice feeling. at school, he felt like they were being watched constantly, even though he knew they weren't. he felt like the more time they spent at school studying, the more people were going to find out and that they were just making it easier for them. he tried to push the thoughts away, knowing they couldn't just go to his house whenever cam wanted. that would be against the rules, if there was even a set of rules for them.
quietly, he opened up the door, heading out and into the staff parking lot. he normally got a ride home from oliver, whether they were going to his house or if he was taking him home. he hoped the teacher wouldn't suggest pulling out his homework and working on it. really, his homework was just upsetting him. it made him frustrated and upset, usually it brought him to tears and he didn't know how that would make oliver feel. he didn't want to upset him as well, or make him worried. he also didn't want him to think he was some sort of retard that couldn't write, even though he already knew about the dyslexia. "can we just.. not work on my stuff today? and just.. hang out?" he asked quietly, looking back at him with a small smile.
