It took all of three rounds of Benny biting his fingers before he realized the rest of his sandwich was gone and it wasn’t coming back, unless he wanted to puke it back up. An expression of flatness blanketed his face as he wiped his hands on his jeans and finished up his Coca-Cola, his body walking itself to the trashcan to dispose of the waste shortly after. For what seemed like hours he sat in front of a tree, his center of focus resting on a certain individual – someone he found looking at a lot, and not to mention, someone he ended up sleeping with in result of drunken mischief. He had a difficult time taking his eyes off the curly haired beauty, sitting alone in his grace at a table full of nothingness. He assumed it was peanut butter and jelly that the boy was eating but he couldn’t stare long enough to tell because every time he would look, so would he. Benny would avert his eyes to something else, something in the opposite direction, the cafeteria doors. Through the slightly tinted glass window he recognized a figure coming his way, a very familiar one at that. It brought a smile to his previously dull face and with his hands he pushed himself into an upright position against the tree he sat under, repositioning his bottom so that he was more comfortable in his spot. “Hey, Alex…” He greeted, his voice lower than normal. His smile was of the unconvincing type and he struggled to advance any further with it. Benny’s eyes darted from side to side, avoiding eye contact with him. Surely Alex would notice something, and surely he’d ask why he was so fidgety, why he wasn’t sitting with them, and why the fuck he wasn’t blabbering about pointless yet amusing things. All day he had said close to nothing compared to his normal chattiness, which mind you was an ultimate high for someone of his disposition. He could feel the questions coming out of Alex’s mouth before they even began, yet, at the same time he wondered if they’d exist at all. The reason he was his best friend was that he didn’t push these kinds of things, but he did however poke in when things were fishy enough to need a best friend to tell something to.
